Lamborghini will honor ten years of Polo Storico throughout the year.
Today marks the tenth anniversary of the official foundation of Lamborghini’s Polo Storico arm, which began on April 16, 2015. However, the celebrations for the tenth anniversary of Polo Storico have already begun, with the Italian supercar manufacturer showing off its Polo Storico projects at the I.C.E. in St. Moritz in February. More celebrations are planned to take place across the globe as the anniversary year continues and Lamborghini looks back on Polo Storico’s noble purpose and incredible successes.
Polo Storico, translating from Italian to “historical center,” was created to celebrate and preserve Lamborghini’s rich history, with over 60 years as one of the world’s favorite performance car manufacturers. Through Polo Storico, Lamborghini restores its classics and certifies them through a Certification of Authenticity service as proper historical Lamborghini creations. Some of its most admirable projects include the full restoration of one of Lamborghini’s first cars, the 350 GT #0121, requiring nearly 2,000 total hours of work, and the restoration of the 1971 Countach Prototype LP 500, which was destroyed in sacrifice for crash testing at the dawn of the Countach era.
Models like the Miura, Countach, and even the Diablo are subjects for Polo Storico’s restoration abilities, and like it did at St. Moritz, Lamborghini Polo Storico will showcase its projects at events across the globe this year in celebration of its tenth anniversary. In late April, Polo Storico will participate in the first Anantara Concorso d’Eleganza, and in August, Polo Storico will be a presence at Pebble Beach during the prestigious Monterey Car Week. In October, the Auto e Moto d’Epoca show in Bologna will see Polo Storico showcases, as well, and Lamborghini brand events this year will feature Polo Storico. With a pursuit of preserving and cherishing Lamborghini history, the tenth anniversary of Polo Storico is an admirable milestone.
