Kia EV4 GT Hatchback Spied Testing: A Hot Electric Hatchback in the Making

Kia EV4 GT Hatchback Spied Testing: A Hot Electric Hatchback in the Making

Posted on July 16, 2025 By rehan.rafique No Comments on Kia EV4 GT Hatchback Spied Testing: A Hot Electric Hatchback in the Making

Our colleagues at Healer TV recently captured a camouflaged prototype of the Kia EV4 GT in Hatchback form, revealing a sportier stance and aggressive styling cues compared to the standard EV4 hatchback. Despite heavy cladding, the GT variant appears to feature:

  • Lowered suspension for a performance-oriented ride
  • Larger aero-optimized alloy wheels
  • Bigger front air intakes and a more angular front fascia
  • A rear diffuser and integrated roof spoiler for added downforce

These features point to a dynamic upgrade over the base EV4, aligning with Kia’s growing performance EV portfolio that already includes the EV6 GT.

Performance Expectations: Dual Motor AWD Likely

While technical details remain under wraps, the EV4 GT is expected to ride on Hyundai-Kia’s E-GMP platform, likely sharing some components with the EV6 GT. Industry insiders speculate the EV4 GT will feature:

  • Dual-motor AWD setup
  • Estimated 430–480 hp
  • 0–60 mph in under 4 seconds

Such specs would place the EV4 GT squarely in competition with hot hatches like the Volkswagen ID.3 GTX and the MG4 XPower.

Battery and Range

While the standard Kia EV4 is expected to offer a 58 kWh and optional 77.4 kWh battery, the GT model will likely use the larger pack exclusively. This should deliver a range of around 280–300 miles (450–480 km) on the WLTP cycle, depending on final tuning.

Additionally, 800V fast-charging capability—a hallmark of the E-GMP platform—is expected, enabling 10–80% charging in just 18 minutes.

Interior & Tech Upgrades

Though the interior wasn’t visible in the spy shots, GT variants typically receive exclusive upgrades such as:

  • Sport seats with GT badging
  • A flat-bottomed steering wheel
  • Performance drive modes and enhanced digital displays
  • Upgraded audio and trim finishes

We expect the EV4 GT to retain the minimalist interior seen on the EV4 concept, but with more aggressive accents and exclusive materials.

Global Launch Timeline

Kia is anticipated to debut the EV4 GT in early 2026, following the standard EV4’s unveiling later this year. A global rollout should follow shortly, with production likely based in South Korea or at Kia’s new EV-dedicated facility.

These figures would make it one of the most affordable performance EVs in the segment.

Conclusion: A Promising Hot Hatch for the EV Era

The Kia EV4 GT hatchback is shaping up to be an exciting addition to the electric hot hatch segment. With bold styling, strong performance credentials, and competitive pricing, it could be a game-changer for younger buyers looking for affordable electric thrills.
