Jenson Button, 2009 Formula 1 World Champion and current FIA World Endurance Championship driver, is set to make a thrilling return to the Goodwood Revival. This year, Jenson Button at Goodwood Revival will be competing in the prestigious Royal Automobile Club (RAC) TT Celebration in a 1962 Jaguar E-Type. This is one he acquired especially for the event.
The RAC TT Celebration is a highlight of the Revival, showcasing the fastest and most iconic grand touring cars from the golden era of Goodwood. The RAC TT ran from 1960 to 1964. Button last raced at the event in 2022, but this time, he’s bringing his own slice of motoring history to the grid.
A Car with Racing Pedigree

Button’s Jaguar E-Type is no ordinary classic. British Racing Drivers’ Club (BRDC) life member Ed Nelson raced it in the 1965–66 season at circuits like the Nürburgring and Mugello. This 1962 model remains the last of the famous Protheroe-prepared Jaguars. The car continued its competitive journey through the early 2000s. Its most recent Goodwood Revival appearance was in 2013 under a different owner.
Button first made his historic racing debut at the 2021 Revival, driving another 1962 Jaguar E-Type in the Stirling Moss Memorial Trophy. Now, Jenson Button at Goodwood Revival is back in an E-Type of his own. He is aiming for glory in one of the event’s most prestigious races.
Excitement Builds for Goodwood Revival 2025

Expressing his enthusiasm, Button said: “I am delighted to be coming back to the Goodwood Revival in September, for the most enjoyable weekend of racing of the whole year. In fact, I love it so much, I have bought my own car to take part! I am very excited to be racing my ‘new’ Jaguar E-Type in the TT. I can’t wait.”
The Duke of Richmond CBE DL, who oversees Goodwood Revival, shared his excitement: “The TT is a firm favourite amongst our competitors and spectators. I’m sure everyone will share my excitement that Jenson Button at Goodwood Revival has bought his very own Jaguar E-Type to compete in this year. I look forward to seeing him in action!”
