Sad to say it would appear you did. I’m on my fifth rwd inline six 3er. I succumbed for four months and got a G20 M340i xDrive, because it was a local purchase (only time I haven’t traveled to get my Bimmer) and BMW gave the G2x the sport suspension, but I had to go back to a rwd LCI F30 340i M Sport, because the G20 lost too much BMW-ness. I’ll never own another xDrive and I’ll NEVER own a BMW truck. I will never own an EV.

That’s awesome. Yet if you are after that pure connected driving experience, and since speed means nothing, a Miata may be the better choice for you. It is more direct, probably more fun, and might even out handle your 3 series on an autocross circuit, but alas, the Miata may not be your better every day driver. Hopefully you have a modified exhaust system because that makes it so much more fun when lining up next to cars like yours. It’s such a delight to hear an ICE wailing next to you as the EV effortlessly pulls away. So hopefully there will always be ICE cars around for a long time to pick on. Believe me, most EV drivers don’t envy noisy, lagy gas/diesel engines at all. Kind of like a quiet new Corvette that trounces an old 427 Corvette that is over 50 yrs old. Similarly, the old Vette owner hangs on to his old and comparatively raw Vette experience, while the new Vette owner enjoys his smooth, more energy efficient new ride with all the high tech features and creature comforts. To each his own. FYI, if your car had more HP and Torque, X drive would have been more critical. Interestingly enough, most EV drivers say they never want to own a petrol car again. Many people on here think that they are the ultimate canyon, track racer (when they aren’t even close), when they spend 99% of their miles on the road in town or on the highway. Kind of like big tired 4×4 truck/SUV owners that have never taken their cars off road. On the other hand, that precise, instant EV torque and plant you in the seat acceleration IS something you can enjoy EVERY DAY, at every intersection, on ramp, etc. The fact that they are at least 4x more efficient in energy usage for a comparable car is just icing on the cake.
