JATO Dynamics and AutoGrab have revealed the VINView Pro, a result of their year-long partnership which aims to provide customers with solutions relating to accurate and comprehensive vehicle information.
VINView Pro takes JATO’s existing VINView and adds build specification for individual vehicles. It discloses all fitted specification and options a car benefits from, plus its full standard specification items and pricing.
Paul Hilton, head of retail at JATO Dynamics, said: ‘‘We know from regular inquiries we receive that there is huge demand for accurate build specification for vehicles.
“To express it simply, we are obtaining complex factory data from OEMs, and putting it into more everyday language that businesses can use when sourcing or supplying vehicles.’’
VINView Pro aims to solve problems commonly faced by companies operating in the used car space, such as fleet and leasing firms, online marketplaces, and dealers.
Entering VIN numbers or individual registration plates results in a list of relevant facts and figures for each vehicle.
Incomplete, inaccurate or misleading information can lead to mispriced listings and lost sales, incorrect insurance and finance valuations and inconsistent residual values in remarketing.
Factory-fitted options and original pricing information combat this by removing the need for guesswork.
It can be API-integrated so businesses can access this data via existing workflows. Users can also access the system through JATO’s existing Sales Link.
Mismatches between advertised vehicle configurations and build sheets can lead to customer dissatisfaction or even legal issues. Data delivered by VINView Pro aims to prevent this.
Chris Gardner, Founder and CEO of AutoGrab, said: “Leveraging JATO’s extensive vehicle data, we are refining our valuation services for the market and deepening our insights for forecasting and analytics – and VINView Pro is a key part of that.”
