Hyundai Motor Group has once again secured its place at the forefront of the automotive industry by earning the top spot in the J.D. Power 2025 U.S. Initial Quality Study (IQS). This marks the second consecutive year the Group has ranked #1 among all corporations, underscoring its unwavering dedication to product quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction across its Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis brands.

Hyundai Motor Group Ties for First Overall in 2025 IQS

In the 39th edition of the J.D. Power U.S. IQS, Hyundai Motor Group tied for the highest overall ranking. The study evaluates the number of problems experienced per 100 vehicles (PP100) within the first 90 days of ownership—the lower the PP100 score, the higher the quality. This year’s rankings are based on detailed feedback from 92,694 purchasers and lessees of new 2025 model-year vehicles.

This achievement highlights Hyundai Motor Group’s customer-centric approach and relentless focus on quality improvement, reinforced by substantial long-term R&D investments.

Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis: Individual Brand Highlights

Among individual brands, Hyundai ranked third overall and second among mass-market brands, showcasing its growing reputation for reliability and customer satisfaction. Notably, the Hyundai SANTA CRUZ continued its segment leadership by winning the Midsize Pickup category.

Kia secured the eighth spot overall, with the Kia Telluride named best in the Upper Midsize SUV segment, affirming its strength in the competitive SUV market.

Genesis, HMG’s premium luxury brand, improved its position to ninth overall, while maintaining its standing as the third-highest ranked premium brand, further cementing its status as a leader in the luxury vehicle segment.
