Hyundai Pony Coupe Concept Reimagined

Hyundai Pony Coupe Concept Reimagined

Posted on February 27, 2025 By rehan.rafique No Comments on Hyundai Pony Coupe Concept Reimagined

The automotive world is eagerly awaiting the resurrection of the Hyundai Pony Coupe, recently reinterpreted by the N Vision 74. Our colleagues at WRD have dared to create this modern reinterpretation—a stunning fusion of the iconic Hyundai Pony Coupe Concept and the N Vision 74—seamlessly blending the essence of the past with the cutting-edge technology of the future.

A Bold New Era for Hyundai’s Iconic Design

The reborn Pony Coupe is more than just a nostalgic tribute—it is a bold statement that seeks to redefine not just Hyundai, but the very essence of electric vehicles (EVs). Inspired by the concept of a ‘City Hopper,’ this reinvented Pony Coupe exemplifies how compact and agile EVs can transform urban mobility. While honoring the intimacy of the original, this concept highlights the potential of Hyundai’s E-GMP platform.

Performance Meets Innovation

If the production model follows what Hyundai have showcased in the N Vision 74, a 570 kW hydrogen-electric hybrid powertrain producing over 775 horsepower will be installed. Together with rear-wheel drive and a sub-three-second 0-100 km/h acceleration, this new supercar will be limited to 200 units worldwide.

Beyond its innovative powertrain, the reinvented Pony Coupe remains true to its roots, retaining its signature rear-wheel-drive (RWD) layout. This ensures that driving pleasure remains at the heart of the experience, proving that in the EV era, ‘driving still matters.’

A Passion Project from WRDº

It is essential to clarify that this stunning reimagination is not an official Hyundai release. Rather, it is a creative tribute crafted by the talented team at WRDº. Lead planner Hwani and photographer Nakji, in collaboration with lead 3D designer Brian Kim, have meticulously brought this digital model to life as an homage to the original Pony Coupe Concept and the unfulfilled potential of the N Vision 74.

Brian Kim explains, “Every detail of the Pony Coupe has been designed with a vision for mass production. While no body panels directly replicate the original concept car or the N Vision 74, their spirit is vibrantly alive in this modern reinterpretation.”

More Than a Tribute—A Love Letter to Automotive Design

This project is far from just a creative exercise—it is a heartfelt tribute to the art of automotive design, celebrating the harmonious blend of heritage and innovation. The Hyundai Pony Coupe Concept, in its fan-rendered form, serves as a reminder of the timeless appeal of classic aesthetics infused with futuristic technology.

Hyundai Pony Coupe Dimensions:

  • Length x Width x Height: 4480 x 1790 x 1250mm
  • Wheelbase: 2600mm

As automotive enthusiasts admire this stunning fan interpretation, it reinforces the enduring allure of the Hyundai Pony Coupe Concept. While not an official product—at least for now—it certainly fuels the imagination of what could be possible in the ever-evolving world of EVs.
