Hyundai is best known for its cars and SUVs, but it also has a not-so-hidden secret: a division dedicated to heavy-duty semi-trucks and buses. Its latest creation? The new generation of the Hyundai Xcient, a flagship heavy-duty truck that’s been around since 2013, now ready for its next chapter.

While most semi-trucks tend to evolve at a glacial pace with mild updates, Hyundai’s decided to throw caution to the wind with the Xcient. The new model is a complete redesign. The headlights, which are clearly channeling the new Hyundai Palisade and even Genesis models, come with sleek LED blocks. These are paired with massive aluminum-style blades that flank the grille and stretch to the windshield, giving the truck a high-tech, aerodynamic vibe.
The grille is shaped like an arrow, featuring a cube mesh pattern and a Hyundai emblem that’s smaller than before. The digital mirrors are another standout feature, aimed at significantly improving aerodynamics. We also see the stylish roof visor, with additional LED strips neatly integrated above the glass area.

It is safe to assume that the new truck will feature a redesigned dashboard and an improved cabin layout with more high-tech features. Furthermore, the Xcient will most likely gain advanced autonomous driving systems, making life easier for truckers.
The current Xcient lineup includes various body styles, like Tractor, Cargo, Dump, and Mixer configurations, with options for standard, high, or sleeper cabs and wheel configurations from 4×2 to 8×4. So, no matter how you like your semi-truck, it seems like Hyundai’s got you covered.

The current semi-truck is available with diesel powertrains, although Hyundai has also created a zero-emission version with a hydrogen fuel cell setup and up to 400 km (249 miles) of range. The engine options have capacities ranging from 10 liters to 12.7 liters, and produce between 335-513 hp (340-520 PS) of power and 1,373-2,500 Nm (1,013-1,844 lb-ft) of torque.
