The C8 Spyder made a significant impact on the supercar market, and during its prime, it was one of the most thrilling and prestigious supercars to own. It set a new standard for craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail, which has since become a hallmark of the world’s top hypercars. Bonhams Cars is set to auction a Spyker C8 Spyder, believed to be the last one produced before the company went under.

The Spyker C8, was launched in 2000, powered by a 4.2-liter Audi V8 engine with 400 horsepower, capable of reaching speeds up to 186 mph. The C8 featured a spaceframe chassis combining aluminum parts, with body panels sourced from the UK and Germany. Variants soon followed, such as the C8 Laviolette coupé and the twin-turbocharged C8 Spyder T. The C8 quickly gained recognition, and Spyker entered the U.S. market in 2005 after solidifying its presence in the supercar scene.

The final Spyker C8 Spyder, chassis number ‘110,’ was completed in 2014, just before the company went bankrupt. Its chassis number is displayed on a side-skirt badge, identifying it as the last car produced. It boasts a distinctive Gunmetal Grey Metallic exterior and a rare buckskin leather interior, one of only two cars with this combination.

Factory specifications list a 443bhp output and a top speed of 198mph. Chassis ‘110’ is well-optioned, as confirmed by Spyker expert Jasper Den Dopper, and features an updated, lower-maintenance engine. It also includes a leather luggage set, periscope rearview mirror, red brake calipers, and a limited-slip differential.

Originally built as a factory demonstrator, the car was constructed from new components and later sold to a German collector before returning to the Netherlands. In 2020, SpykerEnthusiast upgraded chassis ‘110’ with a propeller steering wheel, 4-point harnesses, and other enhancements. The car is now offered for sale having only covered 740 kilometers and is expected to fetch between $440,000 and $550,000 at the auction.
