GWM Malaysia has announced further details of its 10-year, one-million km engine warranty for the Haval H6 HEV that was launched in Malaysia earlier this month. This engine warranty covers the gasket, oil seal, pistons, connecting rods, camshaft and crankshaft of the 1.5 litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, according to the company.

This is in addition to the model’s 10-year, 1,000,000 km vehicle warranty and eight-year or 1,000,000 km (whichever comes first) hybrid electric powertrain warranty that covers its Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT), high voltage battery and cable as well as the transmission control unit. As with the vehicle and hybrid system warranty, the engine warranty is for the vehicle’s first owner only, and is non-transferable.

Announced at launch, the H6 HEV is offered with a five-year free maintenance package including parts and labour for buyers who register their vehicles in 2024. Being a C-segment SUV, the Haval H6 HEV is positioned in the marketplace also occupied by the Honda CR-V, Proton X70 and the like.

The internal combustion engine in the Haval H6 HEV outputs 150 PS at 5,500 to 6,000 rpm and 230 Nm of twist from 1,500 to 4,000 rpm. This being the ICE component of the hybrid powertrain, the electric side is a 177 PS/300 Nm permanent-magnet synchronous motor that is integrated into a two-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT).

All in, combined outputs are 243 PS and 530 Nm, good for a 0-100 km/h time of 7.7 seconds, while claimed combined fuel consumption is 5.8 litres per 100 km.

In high-spec Ultra form, this gets dual-zone climate control, rear air-condition vents, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, a Qi wireless charger and an eight-speaker audio system, with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity. Its Level ADAS suite includes autonomous emergency braking (AEB), full-speed adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, rear cross traffic alert, lane change assist and a Wisdom Dodge System.
