The GMC Sierra EV is still a rare sight on American roads, but one of the most capable vehicles for sale today. It has a 460-mile maximum range, a blistering (for a truck) zero-to-60 time of 4.5 seconds, and a giant 16.8-inch central touchscreen.
But, if you want one, you won’t get much choice. Today, GMC builds the Sierra EV truck in a single trim level. Buyers can have a luxurious Denali model or buy a different truck.
That will change for 2026. GMC will launch two new trim levels: an off-road-oriented AT4 and an entry-level Elevation model that’s still premium but a little less ritzy than the Denali. For reference, the Elevation trim rises to the midlevel in the gasoline-powered Sierra 1500’s lineup.
Two New Trims, Three Available Batteries
Buyers will also get a choice of three batteries. Today, they can choose from the 390-mile Extended Range and the 460-mile Max Range batteries. Next year, they’ll get a third option, Standard. GMC hasn’t revealed a range figure yet for that model.
The new base model, the Elevation trim, features 18-inch machine-faced wheels and a new interior color scheme GMC calls “After Dark.”
The off-road AT4 trim gets two additional inches of ground clearance over the Elevation, now climbing just over 10 inches. It rides on 35-inch all-terrain tires and “will feature the sophisticated and trim-exclusive Terrain Mode, designed to provide maximum maneuverability, torque, and precise control off-road, and integrated with one-pedal drive and automatic braking,” GMC says.
It gets an exclusive interior color scheme GMC calls “Forest Storm.”
GM’s Super Cruise hands-free highway driving technology is optional on both of the new trims and still standard on the king-of-the-hill Denali.
2026 GMC Sierra EV Pricing
GMC charges a mandatory $2,095 destination fee on all Sierra EVs. That’s among the highest freight charges on any vehicle today, but the truck’s immense weight means the company genuinely burns a lot of diesel shipping these things.
