Glyn Hopkin is gearing up to represent Chinese brands BYD, Chery and Geely in locations across Essex, Suffolk and Hertfordshire.
It said the expansion marks the group’s single largest multi-brand growth phase in its history.
Glyn Hopkin Group recently announced a series of senior leadership appointments to bolster management.
Emily Robinson joined the group as Glyn Hopkin franchise director for MG; Dave Seaton was appointed franchise director for Nissan and Shab Chowdhury was appointed franchise director for Kia and Suzuki within the group.
Shab Chowdhury, who has been with Glyn Hopkin for 23 years, has been appointed franchise director for the three brands.
Following its transition to an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) in May 2024, Glyn Hopkin said it has made “significant investments” to modernise operations, enhance employee engagement, and build a progressive business model.
It said partnering with BYD, Chery and Geely in numerous locations, is a key pillar of company growth following this strategy.
The EOT structure ensures every employee has a stake in the company’s success.
Fraser Cohen, Chief Executive Officer, said: “The addition of Dave and Emily to our senior leadership team, alongside Shab and Paul’s recent promotions, marks a critical step in our strategy to support the next chapter of Glyn Hopkin’s evolution.
“The brands we are introducing in several key market areas — BYD, Chery Automotive and Geely are amongst some of the leading Hybrid & EV brands for the future of automotive retail. They bring additional innovation, ambition and global credibility to our business, alongside our existing brand partners, and we are proud to be early partners for these new and exciting brands in the UK market, to give our vast database of existing customers even more choice, as well as attracting new customers to Glyn Hopkin.”
“Becoming an EOT in May 2024 has given us the platform to reinvest in our people, our processes, and now our product offerings. These moves are all part of a clear and defined strategy to future-proof the Glyn Hopkin Group for many years ahead.”
