Eran Zimrin, President, of ELI – Israel Association for Child Protection, an organization that provides mental health services to children and their families and raises awareness about society’s resistance to acknowledging abuse joins Enterprise Radio.
Listen to host Eric Dye & guest Eran Zimrin discuss the following:
- You began your career in fashion and insurance, but your path eventually led you to take the reins at ELI—an organization your mother, Dr. Hanita Zimrin, founded and led as a true pioneer in child protection. What was it like growing up in a household where such groundbreaking work was part of daily life, and did you ever imagine you’d one day be the one carrying it forward? Taking over an organization with such deep emotional and societal significance must have been daunting. Was there a particular moment when you knew, “Yes, I’m going to do this”?
- I heard a moving story about an entire family healed through therapy with ELI. Can you talk about the multidisciplinary approach ELI takes and why that model is so effective?
- ELI deals with incredibly sensitive and often hidden issues. How do you and your team approach the challenge of encouraging families to seek help when there’s still so much stigma around child abuse and emotional trauma?
- Let’s talk about mental health in a broader context. Why do you think emotional and psychological abuse is still so hard for people to talk about, even as awareness around trauma has grown?
- Let’s end with something actionable. For anyone listening who wants to make a difference in their own community or within their family, what’s one first step they can take?
TIP: When things feel heavy, talk it out, name what you’re feeling, and reflect on how you’re handling it. Believe that you can move forward and then take a step. Action creates momentum, and no one should carry their struggles alone.
Eran Zimrin began his career in textile manufacturing, working with leading fashion chains in Israel until industry shifts led him to transition into the insurance sector in 2004. Focusing on life, health, and pension plans he was drawn to the opportunity to support people during life’s most challenging moments. Throughout his life, Eran remained deeply connected to ELI, the Israel Association for Child Protection, through his mother, Dr. Hanita Zimrin, the organization’s founder and a pioneer in raising awareness of child abuse in Israel. He witnessed firsthand the societal resistance to acknowledging abuse and quietly absorbed the complexities of the work, the emotional demands, and the importance of creating change. After his mother’s passing, Eran stepped into the role of President of ELI, bringing with him not only his professional experience but also a deep understanding of the organization’s mission. By leveraging his mother’s legacy, trusted relationships, and the foundation she built, Eran continues to lead ELI with compassion and strength, ensuring its essential work endures while supporting thousands of children and families across Israel.
