- Ford has introduced a fully electric NASCAR prototype inspired by the Mustang Mach-E.
- The model features a tri-motor powertrain and several parts from the current NASCAR racer.
- Ford Performance has also published a teaser of an upcoming Mach-E Pikes Peak racer.
The Mustang Mach-E crossover served as an inspiration for two new racecars, unleashing the imagination of Ford’s designers and engineers. The first is a NASCAR prototype sourcing components from the current Cup Series Mustang Dark Horse. The second, which has only appeared in a teaser, is Ford’s latest Electric Vehicle Demonstrator designed to tackle Pikes Peak.
Starting with the NASCAR-themed EV, it features the outer shell of the Mustang Mach-E but rides on completely bespoke underpinnings. A full carbon fiber tub is combined with racing suspension, brakes, steering, and wheels, are sourced from the current NASCAR Cup Series car.

Ford has revealed that the prototype is powered by three electric motors and a 78 kWh battery pack, without providing an output figure. Still, this layout is very similar to the NASCAR EV prototype that debuted in 2024 and produced 1,341 hp (1,000 kW / 1,360 PS).
The special Mach-E sports a similar livery with the Mustang Dark Horse-inspired race car for the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series and boasts a large rear wing. We can also see a roll-cage and a driving position that has been moved towards the back, likely to fine-tune the racecar’s weight distribution.

Next up is a teaser for a new “Electric Vehicle Demonstrator” that will be driven by Romain Dumas at Pikes Peak. This model is also based on the Mach-E, but is expected to feature significant modifications on its powertrain, chassis, and aerodynamics in order to fit its new role.

The dark teaser shows the slammed ultra-wide stance of the EV, which appears to have an illuminated Mustang emblem on the grille. The wild aero package includes a massive splitter and an equally large rear swan-neck rear wing.
The Mustang Mach-E racer is a follow up to the SuperVan 4.2 and the F-150 Lightning SuperTruck, which were also driven by Romain Dumas at the famous hill climb. The van completed the 12.4-mile course in 8 minutes and 47.682 seconds in 2023, while the pickup finished in 8 minutes and 53.553 seconds, taking the victory in 2024.
We expect to learn more about the wildest Mach-E yet in the coming months, and see whether it will be able to outperform its predecessors.
