Oscar Piastri won a dramatic Dutch Grand Prix, capitalising after McLaren teammate Lando Norris retired late on with a mechanical failure while chasing the lead.
Piastri led early from pole, fending off Max Verstappen and Norris in a tense McLaren 1–2. Two Safety Cars – first for Lewis Hamilton’s crash and later for a Charles Leclerc–Kimi Antonelli collision – kept the field close, but the decisive moment came just laps from the end when Norris’ car gave up, handing Piastri his seventh career win and a 34-point lead in the championship.
Verstappen finished second, while rookie Isack Hadjar (Racing Bulls) claimed a sensational first F1 podium in third. George Russell took fourth for Mercedes, and Alex Albon stormed from P15 to fifth for Williams.
Haas’ Ollie Bearman impressed in sixth from the pit lane, ahead of Aston Martin’s Stroll and Alonso in P7 and P8. Yuki Tsunoda (Red Bull) and Esteban Ocon (Haas) rounded out the top 10.
Ferrari endured a nightmare, with both Leclerc and Hamilton retiring, leaving neither car in the points. Norris’ retirement, meanwhile, could prove a turning point in the championship fight.
