“Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned” has taken on new meaning as a 31-year-old Kentucky woman reportedly totaled her ex-boyfriend’s vehicle following an argument. While disagreements are a part of life, Stephanie Carlquist allegedly caused $12,464.96 in damage.

Details are limited, but WKYT cites Richmond Police as saying the couple got into an argument early last month. Following that incident, Carlquist reportedly slashed a tire on the man’s vehicle.

Unfortunately, another disagreement appears to have occurred on July 15. In the aftermath, Carlquist allegedly cracked the windshield and poured salt into the engine. The station says she also poured glitter into the air vents, destroyed the rearview mirror, and shattered the radio/infotainment display.

Due to the extensive damage, a tow truck was called to take the vehicle to a repair shop in town. Interestingly enough, Carlquist allegedly confessed to the tow truck driver that she caused the damage. The tow truck driver then called the victim’s mom and passed that information along.

This appears to have set off a series of events, including Carlquist apologizing for the damage over Instagram. However, when police interviewed her, Carlquist allegedly said she only cracked the windshield and poured glitter into the vents.

Police didn’t buy it and Carlquist was arrested on August 14. Records from the Madison County Detention Center show she was charged with criminal mischief in the first degree. This appears to be a felony that is punishable by up to five years in jail and $10,000 in fines. While it remains unclear how things will shake out, records show Carlquist was given a $12,000 cash bond and was released on August 18.
