After 40 years, duPont REGISTRY’s cover cars capture moments in automotive history.

This year, duPont REGISTRY, the source for supercars since 1985, is celebrating its 40th anniversary. In that time, some of the world’s most desirable, iconic, and influential luxury and exotic cars have graced the cover of our magazine over the past 40 years, and together, the cover cars of duPont REGISTRY’s hundreds of monthly issues tell a story of automotive history and its evolution since the ‘80s.

Looking back at duPont REGISTRY’s cover cars from the year 2006, some serious nostalgia is stirred up for any automotive enthusiast, and each year, a cover car shows an iconic moment of the past, when a car we see as a classic today was the hottest new creation on the market. Take a trip down memory lane and look at our 2006 magazine covers below, and continue to celebrate our milestone anniversary by buying a copy of our special 40th anniversary edition magazine.

January – Spyker C12 LaTurbie

The more well-known and common model from the zany, historically-inspired Spyker was the C8, but the C12 LaTurbie was rarer. Using what might have been the only production application of midship-mounting the Volkswagen Group’s W12 engine, only 25 C12 LaTurbie examples were slated to be made, in addition to the C12 Zagato, a coupe with a Zagato-designed body. The eye-catching open-top supercar made it on the January 2006 cover of duPont REGISTRY.
