After 40 years, duPont REGISTRY’s cover cars capture moments in automotive history.
This year, duPont REGISTRY, the source for supercars since 1985, is celebrating its 40th anniversary. In that time, some of the world’s most desirable, iconic, and influential luxury and exotic cars have graced the cover of our magazine over the past 40 years, and together, the cover cars of duPont REGISTRY’s hundreds of monthly issues tell a story of automotive history and its evolution since the ‘80s.
Looking back at duPont REGISTRY’s cover cars from the year 2002, some serious nostalgia is stirred up for any automotive enthusiast, and each year, a cover car shows an iconic moment of the past, when a car we see as a classic today was the hottest new creation on the market. Take a trip down memory lane and look at our 2002 magazine covers below, and continue to celebrate our milestone anniversary by buying a copy of our special 40th anniversary edition magazine.

January – Mercedes-Benz SL, Ferrari 360 Spider, Rolls-Royce Corniche
Three open-top masterpieces are lined up in front-facing views in our January 2002 cover, our 200th issue with the layout of the cover echoing the very first one.

February – Maserati Spyder
The stunning Maserati Spyder was the cover star of our February 2002 “Choices” cover, with a Ducati motorbike as the two-wheeled counterpart.

March – Mercedes-Benz SL
A new generation of Mercedes-Benz’s flagship grand touring convertible was still relatively new in 2002, and in March 2002, duPont REGISTRY celebrated the evolution of the cherished model with this cover.

April – Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet
Shown with custom wheels, the Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet of the 996 generation starred on our April 2002 cover.

May – BMW M3 Convertible
BMW’s E46 M3 Convertible, combining highly engaging performance, luxury, looks, and open-top thrill, was the cover star of the May 2002 issue of duPont REGISTRY.

June – Dodge Viper SRT-10
The anticipated second generation of the Dodge Viper, the 2003 model, was the cover star of duPont REGISTRY’s June 2002 issue.

July – Chevrolet Corvette
The 50th Anniversary Edition of the Corvette was the cover star of duPont REGISTRY in July 2002.

August – Lamborghini Murciélago
In late 2002, showcased on our August 2002 cover, the Lamborghini Murciélago finally introduced itself, replacing the Diablo as Lamborghini’s flagship V12 model, and one of the brand’s greatest 21st-century icons.

September – BRABUS SL 6.1
Already known for its ability to soup up Mercedes-Benz masterpieces, this BRABUS take on the SL convertible was the cover star of duPont REGISTRY’s September 2002 issue.

October – Ferrari Enzo
The new Ferrari halo car rocked the world in the early 2000s, and as one of the most incredible cars of its time, the Enzo’s formula, as a non-hybrid, mid-engined V12 Ferrari, wouldn’t be replicated until the introduction of the Daytona SP3.

November – Spyker C8 Spyder
This zany Dutch supercar was the revival of a name from a much earlier time in automotive and aeronautical history, hence its avaition-inspired design cues and logo, and polarizing aesthetic that combines supercar proportions with vintage-inspired details. The Spyker C8 Spyder, powered by Audi’s 4.2-liter V8 engine, is a niche cult icon among supercar lovers today, and the cover star of duPont REGISTRY in November 2002.

December – Gemballa GTR
Rather than the typical Porsche 911, 2002’s duPont REGISTRY December cover saw the appearance of a souped-up twist on the 911, one from the ubiquitous Gemballa.
