Diego is out this week, so I’m filling in for him by sharing my favorite vehicles that are currently up for auction on AutoHunter.com. You may notice there’s a theme to the brands of the vehicles, but beyond that, they’re very different in terms of their designs and what they’re meant to do. If you’re looking to fill a three-car garage with a spread of vehicles, consider this truck, performance car, and drop-top.

350-powered 1938 Chevrolet Half-Ton Pickup

On any given day, how many things do you see from the 1930s? Unless you work in a museum, that number is probably zero. Luckily, this 1938 Chevy truck was kept alive and roadworthy with a nut-and-bolt restoration about 4,000 miles ago.

Of course, some changes were made in the name of style of modernity. According to the selling dealer, the all-steel Vermillion Red body features custom work by a hot rod shop. Inside the cab, the bench seat was recovered in black and red vinyl to coordinate with the exterior. That banjo steering wheel is connected to power steering.

The original engine was replaced with a good ol’ GM 350 V8 crate engine and connected to a Holley four-barrel carburetor, headers, and a rebuilt TCI 700R4 four-speed automatic.

There are even more upgrades under the handsome sheet metal. The front end was swapped out for a Mustang II independent setup with power disc brakes and the rear end was replaced with the 10-bolt diff and brakes from a 1966 Chevy II.

1969 Chevrolet Camaro Sport Coupe

Who said performance cars have to be red? This first-gen Camaro shows that green, particularly Fathom Green, can be a great choice. It doesn’t’ hurt that that color is draped over the Camaro’s clean, muscular lines. The Parchment vinyl top and 15-inch Rally wheels make an already attractive ride even more enticing.

That rich shade of green makes the ivory vinyl interior pop even more. Power steering and brakes, R-134a air conditioning, and a Powerglide two-speed automatic make for a comfortable, laid-back driving experience.

As the fender badges indicate, there’s a 350ci V8 under the hood. The auto may keep this F-body from setting record times, but the 3.73 rear end adds back some urgency and oomph.

1971 Buick GS Convertible

There’s a reason why there are so many red convertibles out there. They get people’s attention and allow you to cruise past your new admirers with the wind in your hair. But there aren’t a lot of drop-tops like this ’71 GS. Production numbers show that Buick only made 656 350ci V8-powered GS convertibles for the 1971 model year. Considering this car left the factory over 50 years ago and accidents happen, the number of those still on the road is probably much lower now.

This particular GS convertible comes finished in the eye-catching combination of Fire Red with a power-operated white soft top over a Pearl White vinyl interior. Whether the top is up or down, the wind rushes through the ram air hood to feed the four-barrel 350 underneath it.

If you end up placing the winning bid for this open-air cruiser, be prepared for onlookers – and to tell people who come up for an eyeful of it that it’s more special than it appears.
