Dealer Maintenance is this expensive? | SwedeSpeed

As @ultrarunner noted, front tires wear faster than rear tires.
Every time that you turn the front wheels this causes a tiny bit of tread to be worn away.
At slow speeds, turning full lock in/out of a parking space, into your driveway causes front tire wear.
If you have been on snow/ice or wet pavement, at full turn, the front of the car might jump sideways a little. The turned tire wants to steer the car in that direction. Mass and weight of the car wants to go straight. This adds wear on the front tires like a pencil eraser.
Driving at higher speeds on curved entrance/exit ramps where you feel the car push outward, can cause excessive wear on the outside edge of the tires. Turning hard left or right into traffic at a higher speed will cause outside edge tire wear. Rear tires are lazy, they just follow along.
You cannot stop front tire wear. Softer driving habits will slow down front tire wear.
Front tires can wear up to 2x’s faster that rear tires depending on driving habits.
Rotating the tires front to rear every 5K will share tire wear evenly.
Buying a new car may have different manufacture tire warranty and/or tire company warranty.
Replacement tires fall under tire manufacture warranty. Unless you purchase some type of tire program.
Below info is from Michelin website, rotate every 6-8K. I have seen customers with tire wear issues.
Tire manufactures can say have the tires been rotated regularly per tire manufacture recommendations and documentation of tire rotates. No documented tire rotation can cause the tire wear claim to be denied. I do not believe that 2 new tires only should be installed on the rear axle of a FWD car as stated below. I get that new rear tires can limit fish tailing in certain driving conditions.
Years ago, Michelin came out with Radial X tires. You would cross rotated front to rear for better tire wear.
Very few got cross rotated, we were in a hurry, old school habits, front to back baby.
Some tires have specific tread pattern that they were to be installed on the left or right side only.
The tread pattern pointed forward. There was also a half arrow molded on the side of the tire for forward direction.
Bottom line, you the car owner are responsible for the care and maintenance of your car.
Inform yourself and learn as much as you can about car care and Maintenace.
Swede Speed is the best place to get and share maintenance, repair, preventative, DYI, videos, YouTube repair info about etc. about your car.
Many here have shared their stories of repairs,
Ask for advice/help,
Biggie one that is hard to admit, I F’d up, now what,
Its apart, I forgot how it goes back together,
The best one for last,
Happy Endings, its back together and runs great, Thanks, everyone.
