The VW-owned marque’s electric hatch is now 25 per cent cheaper – alongside discounts for the Formentor, Leon and Ateca – as the brand looks to rebound from slow sales in 2024 with a raft of new models.
Prices of the Cupra Born – the electric hatchback from VW’s Spanish subsidiary – have been slashed by about 25 per cent, with the brand’s second-best seller offered with savings of up to $19,400 ahead of a more powerful version’s arrival.
Deals across much of the Cupra Australia range for the New Year see the Born listed as part of a run-out offer for $47,090 drive-away, down from regular prices of $61,990 to $66,490 drive-away depending on the state of registration.
However, every vehicle in stock on Cupra’s website is fitted with optional extras, bringing prices to $49,690 drive-away with the Performance Package, $49,990 with the Interior Package, or $52,690 with both option packs, all before premium paint.
Savings amount to $14,900 in the ACT, $16,400 in Queensland, $17,400 in New South Wales, South Australia and Tasmania, $17,900 in Victoria, and $19,400 in Western Australia.

The hefty discounts are listed with an end date of 31 March 2025, alongside lower prices on other vehicles in the Cupra range, as listed on its website.
Among the offers is a $8500 reduction on the Formentor V SUV, and finance offers on the Formentor VZx.
The $49,888 drive-away ‘introductory offer’ for the Ateca V has expired, and it is now listed for $51,990 drive-away – still a saving over its $51,990 before on-road costs RRP.
The German-made Cupra Born is sold in Australia in a single specification – sharing its underpinnings with the Audi Q4 e-tron and Volkswagen ID.4 among other vehicles – powered by a 170kW/310Nm electric motor and 77kWh battery.
Cupra claims 511km of range in European WLTP testing on 19-inch wheels.
The $2600 Performance Package includes 20-inch alloy wheels, wider 235mm Michelin Pilot Sport EV tyres and adaptive suspension, dropping the official WLTP range to 475km.
Meanwhile a $2900 Interior Package – which in recent months has been offered as a free upgrade – adds Dinamica seat trim, heated power-adjustable front seats, and a nine-speaker Beats sound system.
Cupra sales were down considerably in 2024 – a significant 37.9 per cent – against a flat overall new vehicle market, its worst sales result since the brand was launched in Australia in 2022, with Born sales down nearly 50 per cent.
