The owner of this 2007 Corvette Z06 doesn’t want to part with the car but says he’s “doing it for the kids.”
Now it’s being offered on Craigslist out of Chanhassen, Minnesota with a below-market but firm asking price of $39,950.
Based on photos, that seems to be a fair deal for the car that has been driven only 36,500 miles and has a “meticulous maintenance history,” according to the owner. He adds that it has a clean Carfax and has been fully serviced by Corvette specialists, with fresh belts and fluids.

The Victory Red paint looks nice in photos, and the seller says there are only “minor cosmetic imperfections” like a couple of small scuffs and light small scratches. Likewise, the two-tone Ebony with Red leather interior presents nicely.
Of course, the main feature of any Z06 is its 7.0-liter LS7 V8 that delivers 505 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque and is an absolute blast to drive with its standard six-speed manual transmission.

Hand-assembled at the GM Performance Build Center in Michigan, the LS7 includes 4.125-inch cylinder bores in an aluminum block with pressed-in steel cylinder lines, titanium connecting rods, and intake valves, along with an 8-quart dry-sump oiling system with remote reservoir. With 11:1 compression and a 7,000-RPM redline, the Z06 was capable of reaching 60 mph in 3.7 seconds.
Helping with the overall performance of the Z06 are the lightweight aluminum chassis, carbon-fiber wide-body panels, and magnesium engine cradle.

The LS7 isn’t bullet-proof, however, as some owners report excessive valve train noise, high oil consumption, valve drop issues that can lead to catastrophic engine failure, and failing valve guides and springs. A common fix is to replace the exhaust valves with one-piece stainless valves, so any enthusiast interested in this car would be wise to inquire further to see if this has already been done or seems to be an issue.
