The late C3s don’t always get much respect from enthusiasts, thanks to their 190-horsepower 350 V8 engines.
While performance might not be equal to more modern generations, no one can argue about the beautiful design of these cars that for some folks still represent the “ultimate” Corvette.
Check out this two-tone Silver over Charcoal example currently being offered for $16,500 on Craigslist in La Quinta that is located east of Los Angeles.

Enthusiasts might be more excited about this car because of its four-speed manual transmission said to shift “very smooth” 44 years later, according to the listing. Only 5,757 manuals were built that year out of a total production run of 40,606.
“This is a beautiful example of a C3 Corvette in exceptional condition,” the seller boasts, noting that the car “starts right up, has impressive power, and (is) a blast to drive.”

Furthermore, he’s already installed four new tires, changed the oil and filter, exchanged the brake fluid, and serviced the carburetor – meaning there should be little left for the new owner to take care of.
He describes the car’s paint as remaining in “beautiful” condition and adds that the interior is “also pretty much perfect and original.” We believe the seat covers have actually been replaced at some point as the stock seats didn’t have “Corvette” at the top of them, though that shouldn’t have been necessary as the car is said to have just 19,000 miles on the odometer. Nevertheless, it’s hard to find fault with this car, at least visually, as it does look to be in great shape inside and out.
