We get a ton of email here at CorvetteBlogger asking what would happen if someone merged a 1990 Corvette with a 1969 Pontiac Firebird.
Actually, that’s not quite true. No one has ever asked us that question. But if they did, we can now faithfully answer that question thanks to this bold mashup currently up for sale on the Facebook Marketplace.
The Marketplace listing brings us this succinct description: “1990 Chevrolet Corvette that was turned into a buggy with a 60s firebird grill and hood. Runs and drives good. 5.7L V8 with 6sp manual transmission. Yes it’s street legal. The top comes off. Rebuilt title.”

Perusing the ad we see a cleverly executed vette kart of sorts. The firebird hood has been sliced down to fit between firebird fenders and meets up with the mating grill. The whole front end is narrowed resulting in an open wheel design execution with the C4 front suspension peeking out from each front corner. Out back, fat rear tires protrude from Pontiac rear fenders and frame a C4 rear bumper cover. A giant chrome rear wing is mounted to the decklid and likely produces comparable downforce to a 2025 ZR1. Chrome side exhaust and what appears to be Weld Racing wheels on all 4 corners complete the unique look of this Corvette.
Looking inside we find the remains of the new-for-1990 Corvette interior. The factory radio is long gone, but the original HVAC controls remain. Its potential functionality isn’t mentioned, but who needs A/C when you don’t have even have doors? The seats have been replaced with smaller lightweight units with a black roll bar now residing behind them.

This Corvette / Firebird mashup is located in Fort Wayne, Indiana and carries an asking price of $6,495. We have to admit that this would probably be a riot to drive with the 5.7L engine and 6-speed manual gearbox. If you’re interested this ride, head on over to Facebook Marketplace for a closer look then take us for a ride after you buy it.
