The 1974 Corvette represented the beginning and the ending of two features for C3s.
Making its debut was the urethane body-color rear bumper (molded in two separate pieces because Chevy couldn’t figure out how to make one piece reliably), while making an exit was the big-block 454 engine.

This Medium Red Stingray convertible currently being offered on Craigslist in Lexington, Kentucky for $35,000 has both those features, with the original 454/270 horsepower V8 engine still under the hood, indicated with a “454” emblem on each sides of the center bulge. Only 9.3 percent of the 37,502 Corvettes built that year had that engine, with some 3,494 sold at an additional cost of $250. (The small-block L82 350/250 horsepower V8 proved to be more popular with customers, with 6,690 built at a cost of $299.)
The seller says this car has every option except for the hardtop and power windows. It’s one of only 5,474 convertibles built in ’74.

Photos with the listing seem to show the paint to be in nice condition, as is the black leather interior upgraded with the custom interior trim with woodgrain accents.
A set of new BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires was installed last year, and the air conditioner reportedly blows cold. The black soft top looks to be in excellent condition, too.
With just 53,153 miles on the odometer, this vintage Stingray should have plenty of miles left to enjoy the performance of the big-block V8 that is said by the current owner to have never been out of the car.
