To send off the C4 generation in grand fashion back in 1996, Chevrolet offered a couple of special models – the Grand Sport in Admiral Blue with white stripe and the Collector Edition in Sebring Silver Metallic.
Production figures vary according to the source, but the Corvette Action Center says only 1,381 Collector Edition convertibles were built, including this low-mileage beauty currently being offered on Bring a Trailer at no reserve.

The high bid has already soared to $20,000, and interested parties still have six more days to join the auction.
This car has been driven only a hair over 20,000 miles and based on the listing photos remains in like-new condition.
We love the way the silver exterior contrasts nicely with the red leather interior, and the matching silver hardtop gives this car great lines, at least in our eyes.

The overwhelming majority of these cars (912) had the base 300 horsepower LT1 5.7-liter V8, but this one has the more desirable LT4 engine that was offered only in the ’96 Corvettes and pumped out 30 more horsepower than the base unit. It promises to be a ton of fun to drive with its mandatory six-speed manual transmission. According to CAC, only 68 Collector Edition convertibles (out of a total of 469) included both the torch red interior and the LT4 engine, making it by far the rarest combination. Most instead came with a black interior (244) or light gray (157).
The car also features a black fabric soft top, chrome commemorative badges in several locations, Selective Ride and Handling Package, 17-inch silver five-spoke alloy wheels, power-adjustable sport seats, Delco Bose CD sound system, and automatic climate control.

Offered in Maryland by a seller who bought it last July, this Collector Edition includes a clean Carfax and clear Montana title in the name of the seller’s LLC.
Getting ready for the sale, the owner performed a couple of routine maintenance items in February – changing the oil and flushing the brake fluid.
The window sticker isn’t shown in the listing, but with several high-dollar options like the Auxiliary Hardtop ($1,995), Selective Ride ($1,695), LT4 engine ($1,450), and Collector Edition package ($1,250), this car would have listed for more than $51,000 as the base price was $45,060.
