This 1973 Corvette T-top coupe has been carefully maintained over the years and seems to offer a sound foundation for a new owner to build upon.
After buying this “semi-chrome bumper” Stingray nine years ago and driving it only 600 miles since, the current owner has decided to part with the car.
It’s available on Craigslist out of the Grand Island, North Carolina area with an asking price of $30,000.

With 75,606 miles on the odometer, this red-on-red car offers lots of eye candy and plenty of documentation detailing all the work that’s been done to it over the past several years.
“I have a pile of receipts and a spreadsheet going all the way back to the second owner in 1977,” the seller says, offering to share that info with any interested buyers.

It all starts, however, with the strong foundation of a rust-free frame and birdcage after spending its life in North Carolina and Virginia and continues with the matching-numbers 454 V8 engine that provides “lots of power” and “no smoke,” resulting in a car that drives “great.”
It’s mated with a four-speed manual transmission said to have been rebuilt along with the clutch back in 1988.

That same year, the left front fender was repaired, and the entire car ultimately received a new paint job in 1992. Unfortunately these days, that new paint shows a couple of areas of spiderwebbing, though it’s still said to look good from 10 feet.
“Lots and lots” of various repairs over the years is documented, including caliper and trailing arm rebuilds, new carpet in 2007, new leather seats/foam in 2008, and a new fiberglass front bumper in 2016.

With factory options like power steering and power brakes and “a pile of extra parts” thrown in with the sale, this Stingray shows all the signs of being an easy-driving car. Would you like to climb behind the wheel of this ’73 that epitomizes what legendary Corvette designer Larry Shinoda termed the perfect C3 design?
