If you can’t spring for a C4 ZR-1 or a Grand Sport, the next best thing might be a very-low-mileage 1996 Corvette convertible with a six-speed manual transmission.
The manual gearbox, of course, means that the car is also fitted with the LT4 350 V8 engine – the same one that was used in the ’96 Grand Sport and the same one that delivered 330 horsepower, 30 more than the automatic stock ones.

A great example of such a ’96 convertible with tasteful modifications is being offered on Bring a Trailer, where the current bid has already hit $10,000, with four more days to go in the auction.
Besides the power increase, this one has a lot of other extras going it – including a very sharp Greenwood body kit and spoiler added when the car was new, meaning someone back in the day initially sunk a bunch of cash into the car since it already showed an MSRP of $49,109 from the factory.

Sadly, the owner didn’t drive the car very much, as the odometer reading is a scant 11,916 miles nearly 30 years later.
This all-black car with black canvas top and black leather interior features 17-inch silver five-spoke alloy wheels, Delco Bose CD stereo, and automatic climate control. The original factory sawblade alloy wheels mounted with older tires are also included with the sale.

The original owner – who took delivery at Anderson Chevrolet of Los Gatos, California – sold the car in 2019 to the current seller, who is sending along a lot of original documentation, including the window sticker, owner’s manual, service records, initial purchase documents, and a clean New Jersey title. Also clean is the Carfax.
