Chef Andre Rush’s journey is nothing short of remarkable. Born and raised in the small town of Dothan, Alabama, Andre’s path to becoming a world-renowned chef and military veteran was anything but ordinary. Growing up, he was drawn to the kitchen, where he learned the art of cooking from his mother. Little did he know, this passion for food would eventually become the tool he would use to inspire and heal. After high school, Chef Rush joined the U.S. Army, where his natural leadership skills and commitment to service quickly became evident. Over the course of 20 years, he served under four U.S. presidential administrations, participating in multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, and even being stationed at the Pentagon during the tragic 9/11 attacks. His military career was decorated with numerous honors, including the Bronze Star, the Legion of Merit, and the Belgium Peace Medal.

But Chef Rush’s journey didn’t stop at his military service. During his time in the Army, he discovered a deep love for cooking and decided to pursue his culinary dreams. He went on to earn an associate degree in Culinary Arts from Stratford University, where he graduated with a 4.0 GPA. Chef Rush continued to hone his skills at prestigious institutions like the Culinary Institute of America and TUI University, where he earned his MBA and Bachelor’s in Business Administration.

Today, Chef Rush is not only a celebrity chef known for his appearances on shows like MasterChef and Kitchen Commando, but also a passionate advocate for veterans, children, and the underserved. Through his culinary expertise and personal experiences, Chef Rush has dedicated himself to helping others, particularly those struggling with PTSD, military sexual trauma, and mental health challenges. His 2,222 daily push-ups—a powerful tribute to the 22 veterans who tragically take their lives each day—raise awareness about mental wellness and suicide prevention.

But Chef Rush’s impact doesn’t stop there. As the founder of the 2222INC initiative, he uses fitness and food as tools to help others navigate mental and emotional well-being. His advocacy extends to the military, women, and children, and through his work as a motivational speaker and ambassador for Global Goodwill Ambassadors, he continues to inspire millions.

Chef Rush’s story is one of resilience, dedication, and the healing power of food. From his humble beginnings in Alabama to becoming a decorated war hero and celebrated chef, his journey is a testament to the strength of the human spirit. His commitment to giving back to the community, raising awareness about mental health, and supporting those in need has made him a true hero—both in the kitchen and in life.
