Redesigned 2026 Palisade premieres in Manhattan.

The Big Apple provided the stage for Hyundai to introduce the second generation of its biggest SUV. The 2026 Palisade is larger in every dimension and boasts freshened styling, updated technology, and first-ever off-road-themed and gas-electric hybrid options.

This three-row SUV has been a smash hit for the South Korean automaker across the globe. In calendar 2024, it sold more than 110,000 units in the United States, an increase of 23 percent from 2023.
Dimensions
The revamped 2026 model’s styling isn’t a dramatic departure from the first-generation. It follows the boxier and more upright design language of many modern three-row SUVs like the Honda Pilot and Toyota Grand Highlander. The vehicle is longer in wheelbase (the distance between the front and rear axles) and overall by 2.7 and 2.5 inches, respectively. This should translate into more passenger and cargo room.
Features and Technology
Inside, the dashboard features dual screens for infotainment and virtual gauges. Key climate and audio controls retain physical buttons, however, which many buyers should welcome. The built-in wireless charging pad now incorporates a cooling fan to keep devices from potentially overheating. Front and second-row passengers can take advantage of deployable upper-leg supports for improved comfort. Even the third seating row is available with power slide, recline and heating functions. There are USB Type-C ports for all seating rows that can deliver up to 100 watts of power, enough to charge most small laptops.
Engines
Hyundai offers two new powertrains. First is a conventional gas-powered engine: a 3.5-liter V6 producing an estimated 287 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. The other is a gas/electric hybrid option that teams a 2.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine and two electric motors for a combined estimated output of 329 horsepower and 339 pound-feet of torque. Hyundai is targeting highway fuel efficiency of more than 30 mpg and a driving range in excess of 600 miles.
Trim Levels
An off-road-themed XRT PRO grade joins the Palisade lineup for 2026. Similar in concept to Honda’s TrailSport range, the XRT PRO gains an extra inch of ground clearance, chunky tires on 18-inch rims, an electronic limited-slip differential, downhill brake control, and specific tuning for the vehicle’s terrain modes, including settings for mud, sand, and snow.
Internal combustion versions of the 2026 Hyundai Palisade are slated to reach dealers in early summer, with hybrids arriving in early fall. Pricing will be announced closer to that time.
CG Says:
With Palisade setting sales records in 2024, Hyundai wants to keep that momentum going for the 2026 redesign. Its larger size, more advanced available technology and new hybrid drivetrain should help expand its appeal to an even larger audience. Stay tuned for our complete driving impressions once the vehicle is closer to its on-sale date.
