For a limited time, buyers of the Seal, Sealion 6, Atto 3 and Dolphin can save $3000, and the Chinese car maker will also throw in a free EV wall charger valued at $1000.
BYD is offering a $3000 discount across its current Australian range, barring the newly-launched Shark 6 ute, for the 2024 Black Friday Sales event.
As part of its ‘Blackout Event’ – which started on 14 November 2024 and ends on 30 November 2024 – the Chinese car maker has cut $3000 from the total purchase price of the BYD Atto 3, BYD Dolphin, BYD Seal and the BYD Sealion 6.
This means the Dolphin, in base Dynamic form, can be had from around $36,300 drive-away in Victoria – positioning it right up against the $35,990 GWM Ora Standard Range and closer to the $32,990 MG4 Excite.
For reference, the Atto 3 all-electric SUV is priced from $44,499 before on-road costs, the Seal kicks off from $49,888, and the Sealion 6 plug-in hybrid is available from $48,990 – all before the new discount is applied.
To make the offer sweeter, BYD is also throwing in a free EV wall charger valued at $1000 to approved customers.
However, the complimentary 7kW wall charger does not include any accessories and nor does not cover installation costs.
To be eligible for the promotion, buyers must purchase any in-stock and eligible BYD car before the end of the month and must take delivery by 31 December 2024.
As previously reported by Drive, BYD is the second-best-selling electric car brand in the first ten months of 2024, trailing behind US electric pioneer Tesla and ahead of other European carmakers with battery-powered models like Volvo and BMW.
From January to September 2024, the BYD Seal (5308) and BYD Atto 3 SUV (4926) ranked third and fourth, respectively, in terms of new car sales.
For context, this puts the Chinese carmaker behind the best-selling electric car in Australia, the Tesla Model Y (16,697) and the Tesla Model 3 (14,053).
