Customers of Nyonjoro Hardware Store in Kitengela can now look forward to improved efficiency in the delivery of construction materials, thanks to the acquisition of a brand-new heavy-duty truck.
The truck, purchased through an asset finance loan from Equity Bank’s Kitengela Branch, is set to revolutionize Nyonjoro Hardware’s operations. Speaking at the handover ceremony outside the branch, Nyonjoro Hardware Director Samuel Njoroge expressed his gratitude to Equity for its unwavering support.
“Equity has walked with us on this journey to acquire this lorry. We will continue our partnership with them as we aim to acquire more trucks to expand our business in cement, timber, steel bars, nails, terrazzo, and door locks,” said Njoroge, adding that he envisions growing his trade across East Africa.
Winnie Karani, the Business Growth Development Manager at Equity Bank Kitengela Branch, highlighted the bank’s commitment to supporting businesses, enhancing mobility, and driving economic growth. “Through asset financing and partnerships with businesses like Nyonjoro, Equity is dedicated to empowering entrepreneurs, creating jobs, and ensuring efficient transportation of goods and services. This milestone demonstrates the great impact we can achieve when we work together toward shared goals,” said Karani, emphasizing the positive impact the truck will have on Nyonjoro’s sales and operations.
Simon Otieno, the Nairobi East Regional Relationship Manager for Asset Finance at Equity Bank Kenya, shared insights on the bank’s simplified asset acquisition process. “We ensure a seamless journey for our customers, with some approvals taking as little as two days. Beyond financing heavy commercial vehicles, we also support the acquisition of construction equipment, industrial machinery, agricultural tools, and office equipment. Our repayment terms are friendly, and our collateral requirements are flexible,” explained Otieno.
The truck, prominently displayed at the Equity Kitengela Branch during the ceremony, was handed over to Njoroge in the presence of various stakeholders. Among those present were Buffalo TBS Enterprise Operations Manager Lucy Mbilo, Equity Bank Kitengela Branch BGDM Winnie Karani, and other representatives.
The event concluded with a symbolic ribbon-cutting and flag-off ceremony, marking the official delivery of the truck to Nyonjoro Hardware. As the truck drove through Kitengela township, it became a visible testament to the collaboration between Nyonjoro Hardware, Equity Bank, and their shared commitment to driving business growth and community development.
This partnership is yet another example of how strategic financing can empower businesses to scale and meet the demands of their customers efficiently.
