As all-electric pickup trucks from Ford, GM, Tesla, and Rivian make their way into driveways and garages across the country, it seems as though hybrid pickups have been skipped over altogether. In truth, they’re just getting started, with the small number of hybrid pickup trucks available today expected to more than double in the next couple of years.
Whatever type of truck you’re looking for and whatever use case you might have, there’s a good chance that one of these hybrid pickups will suit your needs. Here are the best hybrid pickups of 2025. Pricing is the most affordable trim-level hybrid, including destination charges.
Current Models:
1. 2025 Ford Maverick

Starting price: $28,590
Range: 511 miles
MPG: 37 combined (42 city/33 highway)
Towing capacity: 4,000 pounds
The 2025 Ford Maverick hybrid continues into the new year, still carrying the title of the most fuel-efficient non-EV pickup truck in America. The new year does bring some updates, including the availability of the hybrid drivetrain with the optional all-wheel-drive (AWD) system. The Maverick hybrid also gets a boost to its max towing capacity with the 4K Tow Package, which ups the maximum towing capacity to 4,000 pounds. The Maverick uses a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine with a hybrid boost system for a total of 191 horsepower. The hybrid drivetrain isn’t available with the Lobo or Tremor grades, however. 2. 2025 Toyota Tacoma i-Force Max

Starting price: $47,815
Range: 437 miles
MPG: 24 combined (23 city/24 highway)
Towing capacity: 6,000 pounds
The 2025 Toyota Tacoma i-Force Max is the all-new hybrid version of the Tacoma, with a potent combination of a turbocharged 4-cylinder and an electric motor for a total output of 326 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque. The i-Force Max hybrid is available in TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road, and Limited trims and is standard in the TRD Pro and Trailhunter. (Note: The Trailhunter gets slightly less total horsepower at 323, but the option of a 6-foot bed.) This powerful hybrid drivetrain enables up to 6,000 pounds of towing capacity and 1,705 pounds of payload. See 2025 Toyota Tacoma hybrid models for sale near you
3. 2025 Ford F-150 Hybrid

Starting price: $58,200

Towing capacity: 11,200 pounds
The 2025 Ford F-150 is available as a hybrid in the SuperCrew XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum trims. The 3.5-liter PowerBoost Full Hybrid V6 powertrain includes a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine and electric motor for a total output of 430 hp and 570 lb-ft of torque. That’s more power and torque than the available V8 engine. And for those who need rugged terrain capability, you’ll be happy to know that 4-wheel drive (4WD) comes standard. Range: 529 miles
MPG: 23 combined (20 city/26 highway)
Towing capacity: 8,170 pounds
The 2025 Ram 1500 lineup is substantially updated from last year, with new inline 6-cylinder engines and more in the non-hybrid models. The eTorque mild hybrid Ram 1500 is only available combined with the V6 engine for a total of 305 horsepower and 271 lb-ft of torque. A new Ram Ramcharger plug-in hybrid version (details below) is due to arrive later this year. See 2025 Ram 1500 Hybrid models for sale near you

The Tundra i-Force Max just edges out the Ford F-150 hybrid on total power, but the Ford pulls ahead in towing capacity by 250 pounds. The Tundra i-Force Max is available with 4-wheel drive, and can be ordered on the Limited, Platinum, 1794, Capstone, and TRD Pro trim levels. See 2025 Toyota Tundra Hybrid models for sale near you
Future Models:
1. 2025 Ram 1500 Ramcharger

The 2025 Ram 1500 Ramcharger is due to join the lineup imminently, adding an all-new plug-in hybrid version to the fold. The Ramcharger’s PHEV powertrain is built around a 3.6-liter V6, just like the regular hybrid Ram 1500, but with a larger electric motor for each axle. The result is all-wheel drive with 663 hp and 615 lb-ft of torque, even though there’s no mechanical connection between the V6 and the wheels, meaning the Ramcharger is really more of an extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) than a PHEV — but either way, it’s still a hybrid. Ram says the Ramcharger will be able to tow up to 14,000 pounds, haul 2,625 pounds, and offer up to 145 miles of all-electric range with a maximum combined range of about 690 miles.
2. 2027 Scout Terra

The Scout name is poised to make a comeback with the 2027 Scout Terra pickup truck and Traveler SUV. The Terra is an electric vehicle at its core, so like the Ramcharger, the hybrid version is really an EREV — effectively an electric truck with a gas-powered generator onboard. The addition of the gas generator increases the Terra’s estimated range from 350 miles for the all-electric model to more than 500 miles for the hybrid. Scout says the Terra will be able to tow up to 10,000 pounds.
3. Jeep Gladiator 4xe Hybrid

Jeep executives have previously confirmed plans to electrify the brand’s whole lineup, including the Gladiator, and the Jeep Wrangler is already available as a PHEV in 4xe form, so it would be a natural move to offer the same powertrain in the closely related Gladiator pickup. In the Wrangler, the 4xe hybrid drivetrain is rated at 375 hp, 470 lb-ft of torque, and offers 22 miles of all-electric range. Gas mileage in the Wrangler 4xe is 20 mpg in hybrid mode or 49 MPGe when driven on battery power. The Gladiator 4xe shouldn’t stray far from those marks.
4. Hyundai Santa Cruz Hybrid

Another unconfirmed but highly logical hybrid pickup addition is the Hyundai Santa Cruz. Some might class it as a small SUV with a bed, but the open rear cargo area puts it close enough to pickup territory to qualify. The compact size, unibody construction, and carlike ride and handling make the Santa Cruz a city-friendly truck. A hybrid would add to the appeal for urban dwellers. For an idea of what sort of efficiency a Santa Cruz hybrid might offer, the Hyundai Tucson hybrid — close in size to the Santa Cruz and on a version of the same platform — scores 38 mpg combined.
5. Honda Ridgeline Hybrid

Like the Gladiator and Santa Cruz, the Honda Ridgeline hybrid hasn’t been confirmed. Still, it would make a lot of sense, primarily upon introducing an all-new generation of the Ridgeline, which is expected for the 2026 model year. Honda currently offers the Accord and the CR-V as hybrids, both using a 204-hp series hybrid configuration, combining a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine and an electric motor. Should it materialize, Honda may use the same or a similar system for the Ridgeline hybrid, so it would be reasonable to expect something in the neighborhood of 35-40 mpg combined.
6. Ford Ranger PHEV

Unlike most of the vehicles here in the “future” section of hybrid pickup trucks, the Ford Ranger PHEV is soon to be available in some parts of the world — it’s just not for sale in the United States. It’s also not sure it will come to the U.S. Why would Ford keep such a potentially interesting PHEV truck from American buyers? Such a decision would likely come down to issues of demand and cost. Even if there are enough buyers for such a truck, it may cost too much to make competitive sense in our market. If the Ranger plug-in hybrid does make it stateside, expect our testing methods to shave a few miles off the claimed 28 miles of all-electric range, with the ability to tow about 7,700 pounds, using a combination of an electric motor and a turbocharged 2.3-liter 4-cylinder.
7. Ram Rampage

Another foreign-market special that may eventually make it to the U.S. is the Ram Rampage, which is already on sale in Brazil, with a compact footprint and unibody construction not unlike the Hyundai Santa Cruz. The Rampage is not, as yet, a hybrid. However, given parent company Stellantis’ use of a PHEV powertrain in vehicles like the Dodge Hornet and Alfa Romeo Tonale, it’s possible the same system could find its way into the Rampage — should it find its way to the U.S. market. If it did, it might sport something in the neighborhood of 33 miles of all-electric range, 29 mpg combined in hybrid mode, and 77 MPGe in electric mode, just like the current Hornet.
