It won’t replace the Bentayga, but an SUV – smaller than its current offering, but still large – will be the first fully-electric car from Bentley.
Bentley’s first fully electric vehicle – which is slated to be revealed at the end of 2026 – will be an ‘urban SUV’ that is less than five metres long.
That makes it smaller than the current Bentayga SUV, but far from a small car; a Toyota LandCruiser 300 Series is a few millimetres shorter than five metres long.
This new model – with only the above profile illustration as a hint to its shape – will be the first of an increasing range of electric vehicles for the British luxury brand, which has pledged to go all-electric by 2035.
It is understood that Bentley’s first electric car won’t be named Bentayga, nor will it replace the current Bentayga SUV. Instead, it will be a new standalone model within the lineup.

Being less than five metres long means this new model will be shorter than the current Bentayga (pictured above), which measures either 5125mm from nose to tail for the standard version, or 5305mm for the extended-wheelbase (EWB) model.
Despite using an older platform that dates back to 2015, the Bentayga SUV remains Bentley’s most popular model both in Australia and worldwide.
Bentley’s pledge to go fully electric was recently pushed back from 2030 to 2035, as it identifies hybrids as being an important powertrain technology for the next decade, amidst changes in demand and legislation.
Since dropping the 6.0-litre turbocharged W12 engine in 2024, Bentley now uses a mix of V6 and V8 hybrid powertrains in the Flying Spur sedan, Continental GT two-door, and Bentayga.
From 2027, Bentley has pledged to release a new hybrid or electric model every year until 2035.
