Bentley’s most luxurious and complex paintwork yet fades into view.

Monterey Car Week is where the most luxurious, exclusive, desirable, expensive, powerful, or any other superlative cars come to gather for a celebration of automotive excellence of just about every kind. Along with adrenaline-filled auctions, exotic cars littering the streets, unforgettable concours displays, and more, the world’s top automotive manufacturers take to the gorgeous Monterey Peninsula in California to showcase their latest and greatest, with Bentley Motors being no exception.

At this year’s Monterey Car Week, Bentley arrives as a manufacturer being swept by the winds of change, retiring its W12 engine in favor of new performance-oriented hybrid powertrains, looking forward to electrification, and seeing major success currently through offering customers more bespoke configuration and commissioning options through its venerated and historic bespoke arm, Mulliner. More Bentleys than ever before feature the unique, ultra-luxurious bespoke touches that Mulliner offers, and in response, Bentley has offered more options than ever before, as well.

The introduction of new paint facilities at Bentley’s “Dream Factory” in Crewe, England means that Bentley is also able to introduce new paintwork options for those who want a unique, eye-catching car, and now, at Monterey Car Week, a new one-off personal commission from Bentley is showcasing the new ultimate paint finish from Bentley: Ombre by Mulliner.

With the new Ombre finish, the car transitions gracefully from one color to another across its length, the result of a painstaking technique that is done by hand. First, the car is sprayed in the two contrasting colors at the front and rear. After that, the blend is stages in a process that takes seasoned, expert technicians approximately 56 hours to complete. The first car to feature the new Ombre finish is a new Continental GT Speed, showcased at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering. The Ombre finish fades from Topaz at the front to Windsor Blue at the rear, with a Topaz and Beluga interior echoing the same two-tone principle.

Through Bentley’s global retailer network, the Ombre by Mulliner paint finish is available now to order in three different color combinations. Showcasing a captivating new paint finish that is impossible to take your eyes off of, Bentley continues to expand the catalog of Mulliner options that have gained ever-growing popularity.
