Universal joint sockets, universal sockets, wobblys, or whatever else you call them, there are times when no other tool will do. And there are some particularities that matter in a universal joint equipped socket, like the right amount of resistance to the bend. Nothing is worse than a limp wobbly socket after all. But what about impact rated wobbly sockets? These things need to be much stronger than the old school stuff not made for an impact, because the loads on them are nuts in comparison. But what does impact rated mean anyway? We’ve all seen the cheap junk come out with flat black sockets that make people think they are impact sockets even if they don’t say so on the packaging. And we’ve all seen them with packaging that says they are for an impact and then watched them fall apart during their first use.
