I first met Brad King during the California Hot Rod Reunion in 2012 when I put a dent in his awesome hot rod Chevy pickup. The BANGshift.com $200 Hauler Suburban had been stolen two nights before, and in order to go live for all the racing action I had to beg, borrow, rent, and steal some equipment. After a full day of racing, it was time for the famed Cacklefest and Brad’s truck was one of the push vehicles. After push starting a car, each of the push vehicles would drive around the left lane wall and park nose in to the wall from the outside. Brad parked right next to my scaffolding and after the Cacklefest was done I started tearing down. After lowering several cases and items down from the scaffolding, using an extension cord as my rope, it was time to lower a large hard case holding a tripod I had borrowed. It went off without a hitch until the last second when the case tipped over and bounced off the fender of Brad’s truck. He was right there when it happened, never once yelled at me, and was way less upset than I was. Hurting someone else’s ride was not okay to me, but Brad told me he was fine and would have a great story to tell.

We’ve been friends ever since. I had no idea at the time that he was an amazingly talented pinstriper, car builder, and overall bad ass. He’s the man behind Stories N Steel, so when he said he was doing an episode on himself, interviewing himself, I knew it would be fun.

Check it out and learn some stuff about him. I sure did!

Video Description:

Brad King is someone on a mission.

From chasing the perfect pinstripe to learning t-shirt artwork, creating fonts, publishing and film production, Brad was always out to prove that one can accomplish anything no matter what.

On this episode I/we sit down and talk about chasing perfection, ghosts of negativity past and if learning too much is really a thing. We talk about his Dad’s influence, his passion for racing and what steered him in the direction he ended up.

We also learn that ADD doesn’t always pertain to math. This is a fun and definitely silly episode…
