How To Install A Roll Pan On A GM OBS Truck – Bodywork How To With Kevin Tetz
A roll pan is one of the most iconic body mods you can do on an OBS Chevy of GM truck. It is typically easier than welding up door handles, or doing other body mods, and it makes a huge impact on the look at the rear of the truck. You can get them in bolt on or weld on designs, made of fiberglass, glass reinforced plastics, or steel. I’ve had a bolt in steel roll pan in my OBS trucks, but sometimes the weld in units are better because they just look so much smoother.
In this video below, Kevin Tetz is working on an OBS Chevrolet and takes us through the process of welding in and finishing a roll pan on it. This is valuable stuff if you think you might try this project yourself, because anything that requires bodywork is typically expensive.

For me, a custom roll-pan on the back of a truck is a cool custom touch! They look fine just bolted in, but truly custom when welded in… @ViceGripGarage wanted it smoothed as well, so here we are! I got the panel from @SummitRacing and the @ITWEvercoat polyester from Amazon, so all of this stuff is available to anyone. I show how to block Body Filler, How to recover from pinholes, as well as removing a bad RUN in the primer! I also show you how to spray primer, and apply filler and block it out so that it looks perfect under the paint! It’s what we DO with the stuff that makes it nice, so I wanted to show my process for molding in a pan to this OBS truck.
