AutoHunter Spotlight: 1950 Ford Country Squire

AutoHunter Spotlight: 1950 Ford Country Squire

Posted on November 20, 2024 By rehan.rafique No Comments on AutoHunter Spotlight: 1950 Ford Country Squire

Featured on AutoHunter is this 50,950-mile 1950 Ford Custom Deluxe “Country Squire” wagon. At the beginning of the model year, Ford’s top Custom Deluxe trim level featured this woodie wagon but, in the middle of the model year, Ford started referring to it as the Country Squire. This one is powered by Ford’s famous ‘Flathead” V8, this one measuring 239ci, paired with a three-speed manual. Not only are the miles low, but this woodie also has had two owners in its lifetime. Features include a push-button AM radio, Magic Air heater, clock, and original sales documentation and registration. Painted Sunland Beige over a tan vinyl interior, this Blue Oval woodie comes from the private seller with the owner’s manual and a clear title.

The original Black is no more, but allow me to introduce this attractive Sunland Beige, which is nicely complemented by the authentic mahogany construction aft of the cowl. Other exterior features include a windshield visor, driver-side mirror, and full-size spare on the rear.

The stock wheels feature Ford hubcaps and are wrapped in Coker 6.70 x 15 whitewalls.

Three bench seats are upholstered in two-tone tan vinyl. The door panels are wood, though the dashboard is simulated wood. Features include a two-spoke steering wheel, column-mounted shifter, push-button AM radio, Magic Air heater, and clock.

The instrument panel consists of a 100-mph speedometer and gauges for the oil pressure, temperature, battery, and fuel level. The odometer currently shows 50,950 miles and is reportedly accurate.

Power comes from a 239ci “Flathead” V8 with a two-barrel carburetor that helps it offer 100 horsepower. Shifting is done through a three-speed manual transmission.

The undercarriage features an independent front suspension with semi-elliptical leaf springs and a solid axle out back. Braking is handled by four-wheel drums. A single exhaust outlet empties carbon monoxide at the rear.

The auction for this low-mileage 1950 Ford Custom Deluxe “Country Squire” wagon will end Monday, November 25, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. (MST).
