Ford is expanding its presence in East Malaysia with the addition of servicing facilities in Kapit and Mukah, along with an upgraded Ngu Brothers showroom in Sibu, Sarawak, and these complement the network of 11 dealers across the states of Sabah and Sarawak.

At present, dealerships in Sarawak are currently located in Kuching (SDAC), Sibu (Ngu Brothers), Miri (ALV Brothers), Bintulu (Ngu Brothers), Kota Samarahan (Jimisar Motors), along with the addition of the aforementioned two service centres in Kapit and Mukah. Ford promises readily stocked parts which are supplied with a Ford warranty and which meet global standards, and with the addition of new service locations, Ford customers who are in and out of town areas in the region are now closer to the brand’s vehicle servicing facilities.

The upgraded Sibu showroom managed by Ngu Brothers features a 6,135 sq ft space with customer lounges and showcase areas for display vehicles, as the refreshed facility brings enhanced facilities in line with Ford corporate identity standards.

“The strategic dealer locations and services are our way of reaffirming our commitment to Ford owners in this vital region of Sabah and Sarawak, ensuring that they enjoy the convenience, quality and reliability that we offer. This is not limited to key city centres but also focuses on underserved regions like Kapit and Mukah, which features service-only facilities to cater to specific needs,” said SDAC managing director Turse Zuhair.

The rigours of rough terrain are best handled by off-road capable vehicles, and from Ford, the Ranger is the pick-up truck ticket. The latest from the range to arrive in Malaysia is the Ranger Stormtrak, which is priced at RM181,888, on-the-road without insurance in Peninsular Malaysia, and RM188,288 in Sabah and Sarawak.

The Ranger Stormtrak brings a darkened aesthetic to the popular pick-up truck range, packing the familiar bi-turbo version of the 2.0 litre EcoBlue turbodiesel unit that outputs 210 PS at 3,750 rpm and 500 Nm from 1,750 to 2,000 rpm. A part-time 4×4 system is engaged with an electronic shift-on-the-fly system.
