Audi’s New Coupe Looks Like A TT That Hooked Up With A Jaguar Concept

  • Audi’s new electric concept will debut at the Munich Motor Show.
  • The interior shows original TT inspiration with retro elements.
  • A production version is rumored to slot between the TT and the R8.

Update: Audi of Canada seems to have jumped the gun on its upcoming concept sports coupe, releasing the first image earlier than expected. The photo briefly appeared on their Facebook page before being taken down, but Instagram users Wilcoblok and Cochespias managed to capture a screenshot. That single image was soon followed by a fuller set of photos surfacing today, just hours before the official unveiling.

The concept blends several stylistic cues, almost as if Audi’s Bauhaus-inspired designs of the 1990s collided with elements of Jaguar’s controversial Type 00 and a hint of Bentley. Its bodywork balances soft curves with sharper lines, though the decision to cover the rear quarter window results in a somewhat awkward profile. The roof detailing also hints at the possibility of a retractable section, perhaps a targa-style configuration.

At the front, the concept introduces a rectangular take on Audi’s grille, reshaped for the electric era, with the four-ring badge set against a black background. In line with several past Audi concepts like the 2000 Rosemeyer, the car does without a rear window, while the interior carries echoes of the original TT. A closer look reveals a classic sports steering wheel, extensive aluminum trim, and a blend of rotary dials with physical buttons.

Original story continues below.

The Munich Motor Show kicks off on September 9 and German automakers will be front and center. Among them, Audi is preparing to capture attention with the debut of an all-new sports car concept.

If that wasn’t exciting enough, the company has started the hype machine by releasing two new teasers on social media. The first prominently features the TT and says “The legends of yesterday are the blueprint for tomorrow.”

The clip then shows an assortment of other models including classic race cars and the Avus concept. While the new concept isn’t shown, Audi said “For more than a century, we probed at the edges of possibility. Shaping an industry out of a desire to move forward.”

The second teaser pays tribute to the Auto Union Type C and D race cars. These silver arrows redefined performance and featured lightweight aluminum bodies as well as a mid-engine layout that was “years ahead of its time.”

While Audi isn’t saying much about their latest concept, CEO Gernot Döllner recently revealed it’s their TT Moment 2.0. The executive also confirmed the car will be electric as well as “something in between” a TT and R8.

A covered image of the concept suggests it will be smaller than the A5 Coupe and Convertible, and this makes since as the company is expected to offer a new sports car based on the Porsche 718 EV. In fact, spy photographers snapped a possible mule in April, suggesting work is already underway on a production model.

Considering the teaser campaign is just getting started, we can likely expect to learn more about the concept ahead of its debut in September.
