General Manager | Supply Chain & Business Growth Strategist
When Akosua Onyame Biney stepped into her father’s office and heard the words, “It’s time for you to lead,” her heart skipped a beat. She was in her 20s, fresh out of her MBA program, with a suitcase full of dreams and a head buzzing with ideas. But leading a packaging company in Ghana? That felt massive. “It’s too big for me,” she had whispered. But her father saw something she hadn’t fully embraced yet—a quiet force of leadership, built through years of relentless learning, global thinking, and an unshakable commitment to excellence. Today, Akosua is the General Manager of J. A. Biney Packaging Ltd., where she’s not just running operations—she’s transforming them. With a keen eye on strategic planning, supply chain innovation, and team empowerment, she’s bringing fresh energy to the food packaging sector in Ghana. Her leadership blends tech-savviness with people-first thinking, making her one of the most promising young leaders in West Africa’s business landscape. But Akosua’s story didn’t begin in a corner office. It began with a passion for technology and a hunger to learn. Armed with a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from Methodist University College Ghana, where she served as both Secretary and later Vice President of the IT Students Association, Akosua laid her academic foundation with a focus on impact. She wasn’t just attending classes—she was already leading. Her drive to keep growing led her to pursue an MBA in Digital Technology Management at the University of Bedfordshire, where she sharpened her skills in digital strategy, business transformation, and leadership in an evolving global economy.

Even during school breaks, Akosua never rested. She actively pursued internships and hands-on experiences to expand her skills and understanding of real-world business and tech challenges. She started out as a Sales Assistant at J. A. Biney & Company Limited, where she not only hit revenue targets month after month but also coached new recruits, optimized inventory strategies, and helped boost customer satisfaction through thoughtful engagement and feedback initiatives. Then came a pivotal chapter—her internship at the Legal Department of the Cocoa Marketing Company, where she didn’t just shadow professionals—she handled real tasks, resolved long-standing client issues, and improved operational efficiency in the exportation of Ghana’s most prized commodity: cocoa.

Her journey continued at the Nursing and Midwifery Training College in Korle Bu, where she supported the IT department. There, she deployed a cloud-based storage solution, helped implement a student ID tracking system, and solved technical issues with remarkable efficiency. She made technology work better for those shaping Ghana’s healthcare future. She went on to serve at the Ghana Tourism Development Company as an Administrative Assistant, where her ability to juggle complex tasks—event planning, customer service, data entry, and journal editing—shone through. Her contributions improved internal communication, boosted employee engagement, and increased the organization’s visibility and customer satisfaction.

In 2020, Akosua returned to J. A. Biney & Co. Ltd. as a Supply Chain Manager, managing complex logistics, refining international operations, and ensuring product delivery across borders. Her versatility and precision soon caught attention, and in 2025, she rose to the role of General Manager. Now, Akosua is charting a new course in the packaging industry, leading with innovation, data-driven decisions, and an unwavering belief in the power of youth, technology, and purpose-driven business. She doesn’t just manage systems—she builds teams, empowers women in leadership, and creates space for bold ideas to thrive. Her story is a powerful reminder that no dream is too ambitious, no challenge too great. It’s about staying curious, daring to lead, and believing in your ability to shape industries—even before the world sees it in you. Akosua’s journey teaches us that greatness begins long before the title comes. It starts with grit, growth, and the courage to rise when the opportunity calls—no matter how big it seems.
