Long journey getting here. Wife thought I contracted a rare case of middle-age-late-onset autism.
Looked at and drove Audi A5 sport back and a7’s. Acura RLX’s. BMW 740IX and M550, drove both. Genesis 3.3t AWD G70,80, 90. Kia Stinger, Infiniti Q60 and red sport 400, Mercedes Benz c43 AMG, won’t look at Lexus because they’re slow, ugly and over priced. I even looked into a Maserati Quattroporte. I’m sure I’m missing some because you forget bad soup after you’ve tasted this bowl.
This car (S90) is the best kept sport sedan/saloon secret in the world.
At first, I was incredulous and then angry with C&D, MT and R&T for mostly panning the review of the s90 with milquetoast mealy-mouthed pantywaist assessments like “just missed” or other inexplicable/unsupported shade about sluggish handling or a strained engine.
Fine.
Let the rest of the world listen to the automotive troglodytes. In the meantime, I just goosed my S90 to 122mph in 10 seconds from a dead stop on a windy, hilly road in Colorado and hugged corners like an acrophobe on a roller coaster. Therapeutically thumping global underground 43: Lisbon in an opulently luxurious interior with a more than capable HK system.
The s90’s exterior lines are subtly beautiful, the symmetry and body sculpture is paradoxically elegant and aggressive on the R-Design, and the interior is still the most beautiful I’ve sat in sans a Bentley, Maybach or RR. It shows that Volvo jacked the co-head interior designer of Bentley circa 2017.
It may sound like I’m the dewy-eyed new car owner.; I’m the skeptic. The critic. The ***hole and the guy that thinks chain-food sucks and Marvel made 14 too many movies.
Anyway — diatribe over. I’ll be around as I’ve already installed a carbon fiber spoiler and some badging you all might hate or love. Pics attached — happy to finally be part of the fam.
Also, my dad was 71% Swedish (thanks 23 and me) so I put a little flag on the front grille along with a pirated R-Design badge. Gonna also put the PoleStar white guy on the other side. Have the Maxton front splitter coming any day along with the side skirts and rear-diffuser. Already installed a carbon fiber rear spoiler which fit nicely on the already installed trunk lip. Have a buddy spray painting the calibers Swedish Yellow — will post more pictures once I’m done putting all the flair on. Expecting plenty of cantankerous bridge dwellers to give me ****. Whatever. I’m in love. And that’s my stupid, loving, killer cat Linus. He eats trolls.
