A Self-Taught Libyan Artist & Designer | Doctor
Specialized in Ophthalmology | Photography | Directing & Voice-Over
From the vibrant streets of Eljemil, west of Tripoli, Libya, to the intricate world of ophthalmology and the boundless realm of art, Abdul Nasser Abu Ajeela Al-Mabrouk is a force of creativity and perseverance. A self-taught artist and designer, a dedicated doctor, and an aspiring filmmaker, he embodies the fusion of science and artistry in a way that few dare to explore. Abdul Nasser’s journey began in the classrooms of Hamza bin Abdul Muttalib Elementary School, continued through Al-Quds Preparatory School, and later led him to specialize in sciences at Al-Amal Specialized Secondary School. His pursuit of knowledge didn’t stop there—he embarked on the rigorous path of medicine at Zawiya University’s Faculty of Medicine, where he now trains as an ophthalmologist, mastering the art of vision, both in a medical and creative sense. Yet, long before he held a scalpel or diagnosed a patient, Abdul Nasser was captivated by the power of storytelling through images. His love for comics, manga, and animation ignited a passion for drawing that only grew stronger with time. With no formal training but an insatiable hunger to learn, Abdul Nasser transformed his childhood fascination with art into a thriving creative pursuit. He established his own drawing and photography studio, a space where imagination meets precision. His works have graced exhibitions and workshops at Tripoli’s House of Arts, Iskandar Arts House, and beyond. But for him, this is just the beginning—his dream is to showcase his artistry on global platforms, bringing his unique vision to the world. His artistry is a reflection of his experiences, blending the realistic school of painting and drawing with character and background design, breathing life into the stories that unfold in his imagination. Inspired by the richness of diverse cultures and artistic styles, he constantly experiments, refining his craft and pushing the boundaries of his creative expression.

Despite his immense talent and dedication, Abdul Nasser has had to fight for his place in the art world. In Libya, the creative industry lacks structured opportunities, and financial constraints often hinder the ability to fully commit to artistic endeavors. Yet, rather than allowing these challenges to dim his vision, he has used them as fuel to push forward, carving out his own space in an environment where many might have given up.

His journey is not just about creating art—it’s about breaking stereotypes. It’s about proving that medicine and creativity are not opposing forces but rather complementary aspects of human expression. Whether diagnosing a patient or sketching a new character, Abdul Nasser sees the world through a lens of precision, passion, and purpose.

Abdul Nasser’s ambitions stretch far beyond the canvas. His heart beats for animation, anime, and filmmaking—mediums that allow stories to transcend borders and generations. He envisions himself directing projects that bring unique narratives to life, with themes that challenge perspectives, inspire change, and resonate deeply with audiences.

For him, art is not just about aesthetics; it’s about impact. His ultimate goal is to create a project with a message so powerful that it leaves a lasting imprint on society—a project that merges his love for medicine, storytelling, and visual artistry. To those navigating their creative journeys, he offers a powerful lesson: “Not all criticism matters, not every great person is a role model, and imitation is not always the answer.” His advice is simple yet profound:
Keep creating. Keep learning. Keep pushing forward. Even in failure, rise again. Your dreams are worth the fight.

Abdul Nasser Abu Ajeela Al-Mabrouk is not just an artist. He is a visionary, a storyteller, a healer, and a dreamer—one whose work will one day leave an indelible mark on both the world of art and the world of medicine. And as he continues to bridge the gap between science and creativity, the world should prepare for the brilliance that is yet to come.
