LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Modine Coatings has introduced its EFIN Data Shield Program, the only solution that offers a 10-year warranty for protective coatings of data center equipment.
The program safeguards critical data center equipment from corrosion, enhances system efficiency, and helps avoid unplanned downtime, setting a new industry standard for reliability and performance, a press release from Modine said.
The program’s 10-year warranty, double the standard warranty in the industry, offers data center operators the peace of mind they need to operate their centers at peak performance, the press release said.
“The EFIN Data Shield Program is designed to protect essential infrastructure with multiple layers of cutting-edge technology,” said Peter J. D’Ambrosio, director of sales at Modine. “Our unique, three-layer system delivers superior protection against corrosion, UV exposure, and environmental challenges — ensuring longevity and efficiency. This comprehensive solution is engineered to meet the demanding needs of modern data centers.”
Data centers, which are critical to the global economy, rely on specialized cooling systems to maintain optimal temperatures and prevent equipment failures. Modine Coatings has a longstanding reputation for delivering high-quality, anti-corrosion coatings to the HVAC industry, and its new product is tailored to meet the stringent demands of data center operators, the press release said.
“The key word for data centers is reliability. Our coatings help ensure that the cooling systems in these environments remain robust and operational, preventing costly downtime that could have significant financial implications,” added D’Ambrosio.
Data Shield’s 10-year warranty is made possible by a specialized coating process that adds an extra layer of reliability to the heat exchangers, or coils, found in the chillers used in data- center cooling systems, the press release said.
“Corrosion can lead to premature failure of key components, but with Data Shield, we are offering three layers of protection — TCP, ElectroFin E-coat, and a UV topcoat,” D’Ambrosio said. “This advanced technology not only extends the life of the equipment but also enhances its operational performance over time, which is crucial for data center managers who cannot afford downtime.”
As the demand for cloud computing and data storage continues to increase, so does the need for reliable infrastructure. Modine’s coatings provide data center operators with a valuable tool to mitigate risks associated with environmental corrosion and material outgassing, which can damage cooling components, the press release said.
“While corrosion risks are often associated with environments near saltwater, we recognize that new construction materials can also introduce risks. Our coatings are designed to withstand these challenges, ensuring long-term reliability,” D’Ambrosio said.
