The Lexus LC is what happens when a luxury marque takes things to a higher level. Everything Lexus is known for finds its ideal expression in these classy coupes and convertibles. First and foremost, that means exemplary build quality. The amount of standard equipment is lavish. Even the company’s arguably odd grille design seems so right on the LC’s nose, perhaps because all the proportions work well together.
Buyers also have a choice of purring yet dependable drivetrains. The LC 500 is propelled by a 471-horsepower V8, while the hybrid LC 500h (available solely as a coupe) pairs a V6 with two electric motors for a respectable output of 354 hp. The 2025 Lexus LC is based on the same platform as the Lexus LS, the company’s large flagship sedan, so refinement levels are way up there.
This piece is all about the interior, though, so let’s open either of those two doors and jump in.
Passenger Room and Comfort
Despite using a large sedan as its foundation, the Lexus LC is cozy rather than roomy. Naturally, the front occupants have plenty of space to stretch out, and they can do so on well-cushioned 8-way power-adjustable seats covered in fine leather upholstery. Vents in the front seats directing warm air at neck level add to the comfort for those in the LC convertible.
Technically speaking, the LC is a 4-seater (both the coupe and convertible), but we’d be inclined to call it a 2+2. There are two perfectly fine seats up front and a couple of tiny rear spots better suited as somewhere to put bags and jackets rather than people.
Features and Tech
The LC coupe comes with a fixed metal roof, and the convertible features a power-operated soft-top. The convertible’s roof requires only about 15 seconds to deploy and will work at speeds up to 31 mph. And, in this case, having a soft-top doesn’t mean a noticeably noisier car either.
On the tech front, the 2025 LC comes with a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen (updated in 2024), an improvement over the awkward touchpad of earlier model years. Standard equipment also includes a 360-degree camera system, a feature that is much appreciated when maneuvering in tight spaces.
Another joy of Lexus ownership is access to superb Mark Levinson audio systems. The LC has a 13-speaker, 915-watt surround-sound setup developed especially for it. In the convertible, the system knows when the roof is down and adjusts its settings to suit.
Materials and Design
Overall, the interior design of the 2025 LC leans toward an uncluttered elegance. We like how the passenger side of the center console includes a little grab handle. What really makes the LC’s cabin special is the high quality of the materials used. Buyers choosing a Bespoke Build variant can order sport seats with Alcantara (a suede-like fabric) inserts in the leather upholstery, plus an Alcantara headliner for the coupe. And aluminum or carbon fiber scuff plates.
The LC’s coziness would deter us from choosing the somewhat somber black color scheme. We think the Toasted Caramel decor makes the cabin feel more spacious and upscale. Bespoke Build versions of the LC offer more choices, such as white semi-aniline leather with blue accents.
Cargo Room and Flexibility
We mentioned above that the back seats of the Lexus LC are a good place for bags. For couples going on weekend trips, those seats will most likely come into use, because trunk space isn’t great, with a maximum of 5.4 cubic feet in the non-hybrid coupe. The convertible’s trunk loses a couple of cubic feet to make space for the retracted soft-top. And the hybrid coupe has to store its battery in the trunk, leaving 4.7 cubic feet — barely enough for one set of golf clubs. This lack of space is why there’s no hybrid convertible version of the 2025 Lexus LC. And no, the rear seats do not fold down.
