An expansive lineup of SUVs fueled Hyundai’s rise to sales prominence in the United States during the past decade. The automaker added five SUVs to its portfolio, none as critical to the company’s success as the Hyundai Tucson.

The Tucson competes hard in a tough segment. It’s stylish and spacious, offering an affordable option-filled ride with many of the safety and convenience technologies buyers want. Power comes from a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder with a responsive, fuel-efficient 8-speed automatic transmission. It puts out 187 horsepower while returning 28 mpg combined for the front-wheel-drive (FWD) model and 25 mpg combined with all-wheel drive (AWD).

The Tucson enjoyed a major update a few years ago, so for the 2025 model year, it received a few minor updates, plus the addition of the sporty-looking N Line trim package.

With attractive interior styling and a beckoning interior, let’s check out what the Hyundai Tucson offers inside.

Passenger Room and Comfort

A Look Inside the 2025 Hyundai Tucson

With room for five passengers, the 2-row Tucson features one of the more spacious cabins in the segment. Front- and rear-seat passengers all enjoy plenty of room. Those in the back get an impressive 41.3 inches of legroom, which puts it at the top of its class alongside the Kia Sportage, and ahead of the Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4, and Mazda CX-50.

The cloth seats in the base SE model are fine, but if you need lumbar support or an 8-way power driver seat, you’ll need to move up to the SEL model. If you want heated or ventilated seats, you’ll need to move all the way up to the Limited trim. The bottom line: You won’t be sitting in your neighbor’s lap.

Features and Tech

Buying a Hyundai Tucson? You’re best to start with the popular SEL Convenience trim, which offers excellent premium features at an affordable price. New owners get a 12.3-inch touchscreen, a fully digital gauge cluster, H-Tex faux leather seats, a power sunroof, a hands-free power liftgate, and more without spending big money.

If Hyundai equates to “budget,” check out the top-of-the-line Limited trim package for a new perspective. You’ll enjoy a premium experience with leather seating and trim, heated and cooled front seats, heated rear seats, a panoramic sunroof, and a Bose premium audio system.

Materials and Design

Like much of the Hyundai lineup, the Tucson’s interior aesthetic leans toward modern functionality. The 12.3-inch touchscreen and climate controls below it skew toward the driver. The dashboard, center console, and door panels all feature soft-touch plastics and chrome-like trim pieces to give the SUV a clean, upscale look.

The base Hyundai Tucson SE comes with an all-black interior and cloth-trimmed seats that are stain- and odor-resistant. As you move up the trim levels, the options grow in terms of colors and materials. Hyundai offers its H-Tex faux leather on the XRT, while genuine leather is only available on the Limited model.

Cargo Room and Flexibility

The Hyundai Tucson offers more interior cargo space than most of its competitors. It boasts 38.7 cubic feet of space behind the back row, accessed through a large rear hatch featuring a power option. Overall cargo space grows to 74.8 cubic feet when the 60/40-split rear seats are folded down.
