Drivers Union is a supercar club of which I’ve been a member for a few years now. For the last few years they’ve held a Concours event at Worth School in Crawley, what a beautiful building, and lovely grounds.

Established in 2012, the The Drivers Union is more than just a car club, it’s a community of over 1,300 members, with access to exclusive meets, events and benefits. Car owners have a choice of two Union Groups, Supercars, and/ or Classic and Sports Cars. I am a member so it’s s thumbs up from me.
This concours featured the following classes (car categories): Lamborghini, Ferrari, McLaren, Porsche, Aston Martin, All Marques Class & Public vote. So what did I vote for pre-winner announcement, and would I be any good at being a judge?
All our pictures for the day can be seen on our Facebook album here.
Lamborghini Concours Class
All of the Lamborghinis were place together, however, all the other car categories were spread out so I didn’t get any videos of individual car marques, but just did a video walk around of all of the cars on display (video up top). Hope you enjoy the video as much as I did being there. Let us know in the comments below what is your favourite car on display was. Do you agree with me or the judges, or do you have you own favourites?

My favourite Lamborghini, the one that I would like to own or take home would normally have been a Lamborghini Diablo (above), but the one on display I didn’t think was that great. It had different coloured wing mirrors and spoiler, no idea why, just very odd and not right (in my opinion). I’d have to go for the Lamborghini Aventador in a metallic green (below). A stand out car for sure, but the beautiful Lamborghini Islero was close 2nd for me.

Concours Winner was the Lamborghini Islero (below)

In 2nd place was a Lamborghini Silhouette (below).

In third was a Lamborghini Countach (below).

Ferrari Concours Class
The Ferrari that I would like to most take home, not including my own car of course would’ve been this Ferrari 488 Pista.

Concours Winner was Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale (below). How this car was rated above mine is ridiculous (in my opinion). No was near as nice, but hey ho, it is what is is. Maybe the stripe and sticky buttons won over the judges. Who knows.

In 2nd place was a Ferrari 360 Spider.

In third a Ferrari 458 Spider.
I’m definitely not thinking along the same lines as the judges, as I would not have had these three in my top 3. These would have been my top three Ferrari on the day.

McLaren Concours Class
In the McLaren class, I’d have to go for the very special McLaren 765LT (below), which we have featured on this website before in our owner in the Spotlight feature, take a look at that article here.

McLaren winner was Jas’s McLaren 765 LT (one car I selected right, well done me) (above).
In 2nd place was a McLaren 620R (below).

In 3rd a McLaren 12C (below).
Personally I thought the McLaren 720S (below) in light grey was worthy of a placing in or near the top 3.

Aston Martin Concours Class
In the Aston Martin class, I’d have to vote for the Vanquish Zagato Volante car was my favourite. That was 2nd.
Concours Winner was Aston Martin Vanquish S Volante

In 2nd place the Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Volante.

In 3rd a Aston Martin Super Cygnet.
Porsche Concours Class
The Porsche that I’d like most to have driven away that day was this beautiful looking 1970s Porsche 911 (below). I am not sure if it is an original or a recreation/ homage, but who cares (I don’t), it just looks wonderful.

Concours Winner was Porsche 911 930 Turbo (below).

In 2nd place was the Porsche 991 GT3 (below)

In 3rd the Porsche 356 which I liked a lot.

My choice did not make the top 3, maybe as it was a late arrival, or it was a tribute and not original, who knows.
All Marques Concours Class
For other cars, I really like the look of the Maserati MC2 (below), although I prefer it not to be in grey. However, there is no doubting this Maserati is a very good looking car. However, I’d still have chosen to take this car home rather than the chosen winner.

Concours Winner was this cool Frazer Nash BMW 321 (below).

In 2nd places was a Noble M600 (below). Not often you see one of these.

In 3rd place a 1937 Lagonda (below). Beautiful. I’d so like to drive this for a day.

For me the 1937 Lagonda was the one of the three here that would have got my vote.
A few other observations
Has to be said that if you had 50 to 60,000 pounds to spend on a supercar, you can’t really go wrong with a Ferrari California surely. That’s a hell of a car for the money.
I also liked this Ferrari 296 GTS (below) in like a metallic navy blue with a stripe down the middle. The blue carbon fiber bucket seats were very cool, and ridiculously thin. Not sure my fan of the total car design, I don’t like the back end at all. I don’t like any part of the car from the drivers seat backwards, doh!

Onwards and upwards to our next car show which will be the London Concours. Cannot wait for that as that is one of my favorite car events of the year.
Did you enter our competition? If not, you should have. Don’t miss out next time. Sign up to our newsletter and social channels (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and X) and get notifications.
Overall Concours Winners
I thought a little unfair that these cars won two awards, and apparently the Lamborghini Islero won last year. Pack it in. That’s just not cricket old chap, let someone else have a go. That’s just my view. If a car has won a concours before it should not be allowed to enter again or for at least 10 years. Give other cars some of the spotlight. Overall winners were:
1st place – Lamborghini Islero

2nd place – Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale

3rd place – Porsche 911 (930) Turbo

All in all a good day out. Looking forward to the next Drivers Union meet up. A few final pictures not featured above…
