This is sadly my first post but I need some help with my 2005 volvo s60r. I just purchased the car 2 weeks ago and it has been awesome until yesterday.
I drove it in the morning with no issues except for one code for the chassis system which had been on and was not a concern. This all started after I took it to the self service wash. I washed the car and the problems following slowly developed from there. First a brake failure code popped up about an hour later and there seemed to be a small fuel cut when ever the throttle was let off, making the car go from a burble to a kinda hard cut. This is when the ABS and check engine light turned on shortly after along with engine system service and the anti slip system lights and the gauges going blank (speed, RPM and temp not gas) and the power steering went out. This is when the cut got a little worse. I took the car home and disconnected the battery and cracked the hood and let the car sit in the sun to hopefully dry things out (if that was the problem). I had to drive to work so when I did everything seemed to be back to normal with the power steering even coming back but lights slowly went back on and the problems came back. On the way back home I stopped at a light and all the lights flickered (shut off and back on) and all the internal lights went dark and nothing would work and the only light on was the check engine light (thats just cruel lmfao). The last mile home the lights kept flickering as stated before and the only way to get all of the lights back on was to turn the car off and on which I had to do since I needed the hazard lights. In the last half mile the car entered limp mode/fuel cut only going over 2.5-3k rpm(guess because I had no gauges except for gas which was full) and when I shut the car off again, It would not turn over and a code popped up for “immobilizer see manual”. I disconnected and reconnected the battery and I was able to get home. The car now is sitting in my driveway and I am lost at what happened and what it could be. For context the car has a turbo inlet, catless downpipe, cat back exhaust, upgraded intercooler and a tune which is more than probably erased due to how many battery resets I had to do. If anyone has had this problem or knows where I could possibly start I could use any help I can because I am getting the car registered at the end of the month and I need the car to get to school, also I would like to have a car that runs (obviously) and the cruelest of all, I just got my emissions done today so I could register the car. If you need more information I can get it to you but I need all the help I can get. Also on a side note,I think it is most likely the CEM, does anyone know the cost of that fix?
Thanks All
