BREA, Calif. — Controls Group North America (CGNA), a network of independent HVACR controls and building automation systems distributors, has named David Suskie as its new president.
“I’m honored to step into this role and look forward to a new era of growth and innovation,” Suskie said in a press release. “As a former CGNA member distributor and having a successful sales career with manufacturers, I understand what it takes to drive growth: defining a vision, meaningful relationships, clear communications, setting reasonable expectations, measurable benchmarks, unwavering support, and establishing trust. CGNA’s strength lies in its collaborative model, and I’m excited to help sharpen its strategy and deliver greater value across the network.”
Suskie brings to his new role more than 35 years of experience in the HVACR wholesale supply, temperature controls, and building management systems industries. His expertise spans business development, technical sales, and channel strategy, the press release said. He has held key roles at Fireye, TEC Building Systems, Twinco Supply, and Belimo.
He also brings an entrepreneurial perspective as the former owner of a gas-detection service company. This unique insight strengthens his ability to support the entire CGNA network, from independent operators to large-scale partners, the press release said.
As president, Suskie will focus on strengthening CGNA’s role in the industry by driving innovation, expanding the network’s capabilities, and delivering strategic value to members, preferred vendors, and service providers, the press release said.
“David brings a strategic mindset and a fresh perspective to CGNA,” said Michael Sackett, the CFO at CGNA. “He understands the evolving needs of our members and preferred vendors and is well-positioned to lead the organization into its next chapter of growth and innovation.”
